Objectives
• Define the fundamental elements of Classroom Management.
• Recognize the reasons for negative classroom behavior.
• Analyze classroom behavior of students.
• Apply strategies to combat negative classroom behavior.
Goals
• Create an environment where learning proceeds without interruption.
• Reduces inappropriate behavior and the need to discipline.
• Let students know the rules and expectations, why they exist, and what appropriate behavior looks like.
BusyIf you don’t assign your students a task, they will find something else to do! Make sure you don’t have too much down-time between activities!
InterestedYour students are more likely to act up when they are unengaged. Plan activities with their interests in mind. Also be observant while you teach and adjust your lesson to keep their attention.
AssessedGive them a purpose. Let
them know you are checking up on their completion of a task.
