No two students are alike —

they have different needs, different

abilities, different strengths. Yet they

share a need to understand the

information that’s being communi-

cated to them. Indeed, most

children are required to spend

at least 45% of the school day

in listening activities.1

At Phonic Ear, we offer a

variety of products to meet

students’ diverse listening needs.

Whether you’re working with

general education students,

ESL students, learning-disabled

students, or students with hearing

loss, we’ve got a solution to help

them succeed in school. These

hearing systems come in a variety of

models and levels of sophistication,

but all operate on the same principle:

wireless transmission of sound

from the teacher’s mouth directly

to the listener’s ear or to nearby

speakers. We’re happy to help you

choose just the right system – ask us!

Distance from the teacher, noise, and echo are common obstaclesto comprehension for all stu-dents in almost every classroom.Sound field amplificationovercomes the effects of theseobstacles so kids can focus onlearning rather than straining to hear. It’s been shown innumerous studies2,3,4 to improvecomprehension and test scores, and reduce behavioral problemsand LD referrals.

Children with an auditoryprocessing disorder or slighthearing loss (for example, atemporary loss caused by otitismedia or other infection)have been shown to benefit academically from soundfield or personal FM amp-lification. These systems simplymake it easier to understand orfocus on the teacher’s voice.

Students in your instruction who have more advanced hearingloss — even those who wearhearing aids — can greatly benefit from an FM system. Oursound field systems, binauralFM system, behind-the-ear FM

system, or personal FM systemcan help clarify the teacher’svoice for better comprehensionand better grades.

While personal FM systems benefit children with cochlearimplants, sound field amplifica-tion — and toteable soundfield in particular — is anothermeans of improving their speechcomprehension in classrooms. ty
