Assessment & Reporting Lucía C C In the following line I am going to classify, identify and deconstruct some learning targets in order to make them easier for students to understand. To carry out this task I am going to use some learning targets I created to teach the African American culture, society and way of life in 1960’s and 1970’s through a children’s book: “The Other Side” of Jacqueline Woodson. The learning targets and its classification is as follows: - To realize children have similar experiences no matter their races or the color of their skin. REASONING. - To understand and identify the historical framework in which the story of Clover and Annie takes place. KNOWLEDGE. - To define and reflect on the concept of segregation. KNOWLEDGE AND REASONING. - To recognize, distinguish, analyze and compare different races, societies and ways of life. KNOWLEDGE. REASONING. SKILL. PRODUCT. - To reflect on the story and give one’s personal opinion about it. REASONING. - To represent and implement the knowledge they have already learnt. SKILL. PRODUCT. 1

In the following line I am going to classify, identify and deconstruct some

learning targets in order to make them easier for students to understand. To carry out

this task I am going to use some learning targets I created to teach the African

American culture, society and way of life in 1960’s and 1970’s through a children’s

book: “The Other Side” of Jacqueline Woodson.

The learning targets and its classification is as follows:

- To realize children have similar experiences no matter their races or the

color of their skin. REASONING.

- To understand and identify the historical framework in which the story of

Clover and Annie takes place. KNOWLEDGE.

- To define and reflect on the concept of segregation. KNOWLEDGE AND

REASONING.

- To recognize, distinguish, analyze and compare different races, societies

and ways of life. KNOWLEDGE. REASONING. SKILL. PRODUCT.

- To reflect on the story and give one’s personal opinion about it.

REASONING.

- To represent and implement the knowledge they have already learnt.

SKILL. PRODUCT.

Now, I am going to classify learning targets in clearly or unclearly written in

order to clarify them and if necessary, deconstruct them.

- To realize children have similar experiences no matter their races or the

color of their skin. Clear Target.

- To understand and identify the historical framework in which the story of

Clover and Annie takes place. Unclear Target.

To understand and identify the historical framework of the

African Americans in the 1960 and 1970.

- To define and reflect on the concept of segregation. Clear Target.

- To recognize, distinguish, analyze and compare different races, societies

and ways of life. Clear Target but needs to be deconstruct.
