WELCOMEThe Manx Motor Cycle Club and the Isle of Man Government Department for Enterprise

would like to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the Classic Racer Magazine Classic

TT Lap of Honour. We look forward to seeing you and wish you a safe parade lap.

1. SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

• Regulationsfortheparadewereissuedearlierthisyearanditisrecommendedthatallparticipantsmakethemselves

familiarwiththeircontentpriortotheevent.

• TheseFinalInstructionshighlightthemainpointsofwhichyouneedtobeaware.ParadeRegulationscanbefound

atwww.iomttraces.com/classic/competitor-information

• PleasebeawarethattheClassicTTLapofHonourhasbeenbroughtforwardtoanearlierstartof13.00hrs.

• IntheeventthatyoudonotcompletetheClassicTTLapofHonour,youareremindedthatnorecoverycantake

placeuntiltheroadsareopenwhichcouldbeaslateas21.00hrs.

2. SIGNING-ON

Friday 23rd August at The Grandstand, Douglas

• SigningonwilltakeplaceintheMediaCentre,Grandstand,Douglasbetween09:00-12:00hrs.

• Toavoidqueuing,ridersmayattendsigningonfollowedbytechnicalinspectionorviceversa.

• AllparticipantsarerequiredtohavecompletedtheMedicalDeclarationwhenmakingtheirapplicationonline.

• Passesforoneparader,oneassistantandonevehiclewillbeissuedatsigning-on.

• VehiclepassesmustbeclearlydisplayedinthewindscreentogainaccesstothePaddockviaSt.NiniansRoadonthe

dayoftheparadeonly.

Documentation required at signing on:

British Licence Holders ACU and SACU (England, Wales and Scotland only not including Northern Ireland)

• Participantsmustbebetween18and70yearsofageandholdacurrentACURoadRaceCompetitionLicence,a

currentACUParadeLicenceoraClassADVLAMotorcycleLicence.

• Participantsover70yearsofagemustholdacurrentACURoadRaceCompetitionLicenceoracurrentACU

ParadeLicence.

• AllparticipantsarerequiredtohavecompletedtheMedicalDeclarationwhenmakingtheirapplicationonline.

Non British Licence Holders (Northern & Southern Ireland, Europe and Rest of World)

• AllparticipantsmustholdacurrentRoadRaceCompetitionLicenceoracurrentParadeLicenceissuedbytheir

ownFMN.

• ParticipantsmustproduceavalidStartPermissionissuedbytheirownFederationwhichconfirmstheyareinsured

againsttheriskofpersonalaccidenttomeetwithFIMregulations.

• AdditionalinsurancecoverwillberequiredagainstMedicalTreatment185,000EurosandRepatriation75,000

EurosandallnonBritishlicenceholderswillberequiredtopurchasethisinsurancecoverbeforebeingpermitted

totakepartintheparade.Theinsurancecovercannotbepurchasedduringsigningonandmustbepurchased

fromtheACU,WoodStreet,RugbybyMonday12August.Thecostwillbe£250.00perperson.Forfurtherdetails

3. TECHNICAL INSPECTION

• Friday23rdAugustbetween09:00-12:00hrsintheTechnicalInspectionsBay,TTGrandstand.

• Toavoidqueuing,ridersmayattendtechnicalinspection,followedbysigningonorviceversa

• ParticipantsmustpresentthemselvesatTechnicalInspectionfullyclothedforparading.Allclothingwillbechecked

forsuitabilityatsigningonandwillberejectedifitisnotacceptedbytheOrganisers

4. BRIEFING

• A compulsory briefing for all riders will be conducted by the Clerk of the Course on Friday 23rd August

in the VIP Hospitality Suite, Grandstand at 13:15 hrs.

• IMPORTANT–Pleasenotethatanyparaderwhohasnotcompletedthesigningonprocess,attendedtechnical

inspectionand/orthebriefingwillnotbepermittedtotakepartintheparade.

5. ALCOHOL

• RandomalcoholtestingofparticipantsmaytakeplacepriortotheParade.

• Thepermittedleveliszero.Anyparticipantwhotestspositivewillbedisqualified.

6. PROTECTIVE CLOTHING & SAFETY HELMETS

HELMETS

• Helmetsmustbenoolderthan5yearsfromdateofmanufacture.Anyhelmetswiththedatestamperedordatecode

removedcannotbeused.

• HelmetsshouldbeoffullfacedesignandbeACUapproved,andcertifiedtoUNECE22.05withthecertificationlabel

present.OverseasridersmayusehelmetscurrentlyapprovedbytheirownFMN.

• Thehelmetsvisorshouldbefittedandbefreeofscratchesordefectsthatcouldimpairtheridersvision.Aracevisor

capableoftakingtear-offsisrecommended.

• Anydamagetothehelmetabovewhatcouldbeconsideredcosmeticonlywillrenderthehelmetunusable;

furthermoreanydamagetothehelmetwhichhasexposedtheshelllayerwillrenderthehelmetunusableorany

visibledamagetotheEPSinnershellwillrenderthehelmetunusable.

LEATHERS

• AllPersonalProtectiveEquipmentrequiresaCEmarkwhichisthemanufacturer’sstatementtheproductcomplies

withrelevantEUlegislation.

• Onepieceracingleathersmustonlybeused,eitherincowhideleather(min1.2mmthick)orkangarooleather

(min0.9mmthick),withdoublelayerleatherintheseat.Stretchmaterialreinforcedwitharamidfibresorsimilarcan

beusedbutmustnotbeatmainimpactareasofseat,hip,back,knees,elbowsandshoulders.

• Leathersmustbeinagoodphysicalconditionwithnomajordamagevisible.

• Leathersarerecommendedtobenoolderthan5yearsold.

• CEarmourmustbepresenttotheshoulder,elbowsandknees,eitherfittedtothesuitorwornunderneath.

• Anydamagemusthavebeenprofessionallyrepairedwithleatherofthesamethicknesscoveringalltears/holesand

mustbedoublestitchedinplace.

• TheuseofKevlarsuitsisprohibited.

• Theuseoftitaniumkneeslidersandtoeslidersaspartofaparticipant’spersonalequipmentispermitted.

GLOVES

• Glovesmustbeofleatherconstructionwithfulllengthcuff.

• Doublecuffclosuremustbepresentandpreventtheglovepullingofftheridershandwhenfastened.

• Glovesshouldbefreeofanyvisibledamage.

• Nometalstudsshouldbepresentonthepalm.

BOOTS

• BootsmustconformtoEuropeanStandardEN13634.

• Fulllengthbootsmustbewornandshouldbe100mmhigherthantherider’sankle,eitherfixingunderneath,or

over,theridersleathersleavingnoskinexposed.

• Bootsmustbeingoodconditionwithnocracksorholes.Ifbootsaredamaged,theyshouldbereplacedandnot

repairedbyusingothermaterials.

BACK PROTECTOR

• Theuseofabackprotectorisrecommended

• Whilsttakingpartintheparade,participantsarerequiredtowearanidentificationdiscattachedaroundtheneckby

amaterialapprovedbyaTechnicalOfficialoranidentitylabelattachedontheinsideoftheleathersadjacenttothe

zip.Thediscoridentitylabelmustbepermanentlymarkedwiththewearer’sfullnameanddateofbirth.Identification

discsshallbeofadurablematerialbetween20mmand25mmindiameterandhavingroundededgeswithnosharp

orraggedprojections.

• TheRaceOrganisersalsoreservestherightforallorcertainaspectsofanyparticipant’spersonalequipmenttobe

checkedatanytimeduringtheeventshouldtheydeemitnecessarytodoso.

• ParticipantsshouldalsorefertoACURoadRaceStandingRegulations

7. MACHINE ELIGIBILITY & PREPARATION

• Thefollowingmachinesareeligible:

o Roadracingmotorcyclesandsidecarsmanufacturedpre31stDecember1992

o Othermachinesasinvitedtotakepartbythepromoter

o Roadgoingmotorcyclesarestrictlyforbiddenapartfromthosepermittedbythepromoter.

• Machinesmustbewellprepared.PleasedonotpresentanymachineforTechnicalInspectionwhichhasnotbeen

thoroughlycleanedandproperlypreparedinaccordancewiththehighstandardexpected.

• Handlebarcontrolsandleversmustbetightonthebars.Tyreinflationcapsareessential.

8. EXHAUST NOISE

• Therearenorestrictionsonexhaustnoiseatthisevent.

9. TYRES

• Asappropriatetotheeraofthemachine.

• DuetothechangeableweatherconditionsaroundtheMountainCourse,onlytyreswithadiscernibletreadpattern

willbeallowed.

• Noslicksorcutslickswillbepermitted.

10. NUMBER PLATES

• Platesandnumberswillbeprovidedatsigningon.

12. RIDER & MACHINE CHANGES

• Nochangeofriderwillbepermitted.

• Machinechangesmaybepermittedpriortosigningonbutapprovalmustbegrantedbythepromoters.

• Anyapplicationtochangemachinemustbemadeinwritingtobruce.baker@gov.im

13. HANDLING OF FUEL

• Theorganiserswishtodrawyourattentiontothehazardsconnectedwiththestorageoffuel,particularlyinthe

PaddockandCampSiteareas.

• Allfuelmustbestoredinacontainerfitforpurpose.

14. WASTE OIL

• AllwasteoilmustbedisposedinthefacilityavailableinthePaddockarea.

15. GRANDSTAND PARKING/ASSEMBLY AREA

Friday 23rd August

• ParadecompetitorsmayusetheParadePaddocklocatedinNoble’sPark

• Onarrivalpleasenotifyacarparkstewardthatyouareaparadeparticipantandneedaccesstotheparadepaddock.

• Paradeparticipantsmustfollowthedirectionofthestewardsatalltimesastheaccessibilityoftheparadepaddockmay

changethroughouttheevent(i.e.intheeventofpoorweather).

Monday 26th August

• Thevehiclepassissuedtoyoumustbeclearlydisplayedinthewindscreen.

• VehiclescontainingmachinesmayaccessNoblesParkfromStNinian’sRoadentranceandmustparkasdirectedby

carparkstewards.Machinesshouldbeunloadedonceintheparadepaddock.

• At12:20hrsmachineswillbedirectedtotheParcFerme,viathePitReturnLaneONLYwhereyouwillbeaskedtoline

upinparadeorder(ordernumberstickerswillbeissuedduringsigning-on).

• MachinesalreadyintheCTTPaddockmustaccessParcFermeviatheScrutineeringBay.

16. PARADE LAP

Monday 26th August

• At12:40hrsmachineswillbedirectedtothestartlineingroupsandat13:00hrstheparadewillcommenceforafull

lapoftheTTCourseoninstructionbyanOfficial.TheparadewillbeledandfollowedbyTravellingMarshalsfromthe

GrandstandandwillbefollowedbyaCourseInspectionCar.

• Ridersmusttakethechequeredflagandproceedunderthefootbridgeandexitthecourseusingthereturnroadas

directedbythemarshal.Donotattempttomakea‘U’turn.

• Attheconclusionoftheparade,machinesmustdispersefromtheGrandstand–araceisscheduledtotakeplace

afteryourparadelap,sothereisnotimetoallowbikestobedisplayedinPitLaneortheassemblyarea.

• PleaseNote:iftheCourseInspectionCarisrequiredtopassyou,youmustceaseparadingimmediatelyandleavethe

Coursewithyourmachine.TheCoursemustbeclearforracingwhichwilltakeplaceshortlyaftertheparade.

17. RETIREMENTS DURING PARADE

• AllparticipantswhoretireduringtheparademustleavetheCoursewiththeirmachinesafelyattheveryfirst

availableopportunity,atalltimesensuringthattheydonotplacethemselvesortheirmachinesinsuchaposition

astoconstituteadangertothemselvesorotherparticipants.Paradeparticipantsmuststaywiththeirbrokendown

machinesuntiltheRoadsOpenCarhaspassed.

• TouringbacktothePaddockisstrictlyforbidden.

• ParadeparticipantsareremindedthattheymustonlytravelinthedirectionoftheCourseandundernocircumstances

mayrideorpushabrokendownmachineintheoppositedirectionuntiltheOfficialRoadsOpenCarhaspassedat

theendofracingandpractisingfortheday.

• Ridersaresolelyresponsibleforrecoveryoftheirownmachines.

• PleasebeawarethattheClassicTTLapofHonourhasbeenbroughtforwardtoanearlierstartof13.00hrs.Inthe

eventthatyoudonotcompletetheClassicTTLapofHonour,youareremindedthatnorecoverycantakeplace

untiltheroadsareopenwhichcouldbeaslateas21.00hrs.

• Anyriderwishingtorideamachineonthehighwayatanytimemustwearahelmetandmustensurethatthemachine

complieswiththeroadtrafficlawsandthatthemachineiscoveredbyvalidinsuranceforroaduse.
