At the Sun Gate your group may choose to wait while theclouds lift from Machu Picchu for a magical picture of the site. Machu Picchu is the best known of the Inca ruins, as it is recognizedworldwide, however it is not mentioned in any of the writings by the Spanish Conquistadors. It is believed to have been constructedaround the mid-15th century and was “rediscovered” by American historian Hiram Bingham in 1911. The guided tour of this fascinatingplace is an awe-inspiring experience. From the Sun Gate it will be another 40 minutes walking until reaching the Lost City. You willleave your bags at the main entrance and take a break here for a snack. After the break your guide will bring you for a full guided tourof the archaeological site which will last for about 2 hours.
