Best Regards,Jim

Goodbye Summer,Hello Fall

Keep Smiling! K eep Smiling! ConnieConnie

Or is it autumn? In half of the world, summer has come to an end. Swimming pools have closed. Children are back in school. The days grow shorter and the weather cooler. In many parts of the U.S. trees appear on fire as their leaves turn brilliant shades of gold, or-ange, and red. The fall or autumn leaf-changing is breathtaking, although something in me is not ready to let go of summer just yet.

Another mystery trip has come and gone. This year, we traveled to Austin, Mn, where we learned about cancer research done at the Hormel Institute, Alpacas and their wool, and the history of the bicycle. We toured the SPAM Museum, Hormel Nature Center, and stopped at Super Fresh Produce and Bakery, just to name a few. We experienced a hands on project at the Austin Artworks Center. Dined at the famous Old Mill restaurant, along the Cedar River and watched a movie at the Paramount Theatre. Needless to say, we ate too much, laughed a lot, and came home with a wealth of knowledge and the yearning to go back for more. If you were unable to join us this year, you might want to put the Mystery trip on your bucket list for next year.

We want to remind you all to take advantage of the CD special we mentioned in the last newsletter. We don’t know how long it will last, so come in or give us a call.

Be sure to check out the upcoming events, and sign up early as trips tend to fill up fast.

Summer flew by and autumn arrives soon. We know winter won’t be far behind. I thought it would be a good time to remind you of the benefits of being a Classic Heritage Club member. Not only do you get to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones, you receive this newsletter every other month to inform you of our planned activities and valuable bank information. We offer members a fifty percent discount on the price of any safe deposit box rental and free notary and medallion stamp service.

Don’t forget, we have free on-line banking, mobile banking; and online bill pay. We also offer free ATM and debit card use as part of the Privileged Status Shazam network. If you still write checks , we offer two boxes of standard checks per year to you at no cost. Other added benefits include a Kerndt Brothers Bank credit card with no annual fee and a free insurance check-up by Kerndt Brothers Insurance Agency. If you have a newborn grandchild, we will open a $15.00 Kerndt Brothers Savings account for that child.

Best of all, club members are offered one-day trips to events such as dinner theatres, ball games, historical places, and stage shows. We offer extended travel to exciting locations, domestic and foreign, at attractive group rates as well as local social and cultural activities throughout the year.

Connie, Amy, Betty, and Dianne all put in a lot of time and effort planning and coordinating these events, and I know each and every one is enjoyable. Remember to sign up and make your deposits for trips and events early so you don’t miss out.

KERNDT BROTHERS BANK

Bits by Betty…

Ah, September! Let us en-joy the last of our summer and wait for the arrival of fall. The nights will be getting cooler and unfortunately, the days will be getting shorter. The vibrant colors will soon appear to let us know fall is in the air.

We had a fun and enjoyable trip to Fort Atkinson in July. What a great show and wonderful meal they provid-ed us with. Once again the most popular saying on the way home was …"Oh we ate too much!"

We started off our Mystery Trip in August with a bus filled with much anticipation and wonder as to where we were going and what we would be doing. As many of you might know by now, we headed to Austin, MN. We hope everyone enjoyed the overnight stay and sites of Austin. Again, we thank you for joining us.

Be sure to sign up for our coming events in the news-letter. Amy’s Pre-Fall Fling is on Sept. 13 at West Union. On October 25, we will be heading to the Old Creamery in the Amanas to see, “Rise up O Men!” I am sure you know what that means those Church Basement Ladies are up to it again

On the Brighter Side….

A man walked into a gift shop that sold religious items. Near the cash register, he saw a dis-play of caps with the letters WWJD printed on them. Puz-zled over what the letters meant, the man asked the clerk. “They mean, what would Jesus do?” said the clerk. The man thought for a minute and then he replied, “Well, I don’t think he would pay $17.95 for one of these caps!”
