Homework: Analyze videos

On the class blog you will find a post in the categoryhomework 1: Practice by analyzing videos.This is a group project. You choose one video andanalyze it (you are provided an example).

Each video is analyzed by using Friedmanns method ofconcept development. Hence, we are analyzing how goodis the concept.

Tempo: what is happening in the sequence?That is what dictates the tempo the activity that happenswithin it.What will you give more fast tempo and what slow?

When you are heading to climatic point in your scriptyou increase the tempo, your scenes are shorter andmore packed with action.After you reach the climate, you will slow down your

tempo.Each scene has set of actions; you might want to list themto have a control over them play with their order (indexcards).

I need to see all of that in the script you create.It is better you start writing as the rule of good writing isREWRITING.

Transitions: how do you switch from one sequence to thenext (again something which should be thought in thevideo editing class).Examples:

You switch from two similar/opposite ideas/objects(from an exterior to interior, from noise to peaceful space,from a park to the forest etc.Similar keywords/topic can provide a good transition aswell

PLOT: The story does not need to have dramaticstructure to have the climax point etc.

It can be arranged around different events/actions whichyou selected to tell your story (interviewing technique).
