Class of 2014Graduation Info Meeting
UCF – Friday 5/30 @ 3pm
• Seniors must arrive no later than 1:30pm• Parents & guests can enter the arena at 2pm.• Make sure you have all parts of your
graduation attire:– Cap, gown, tassel, hood (purple triangle)– Honor cords – we will not have extra if you forgot
yours, so make sure you have them
Tickets
• Each senior will receive 8 tickets at the end of today’s meeting. – You will need to check-out with your guidance
counselor and he/she will give you your tickets.– Please make sure you count them before walking
away and make sure that you sign for them.– You CAN NOT pick up any one else’s tickets
Additional Tickets
• Seniors needing additional tickets should have already made a request through Mrs. Sherry.
• These students should see Mrs. Sherry in room 617A starting May 27th if you did not see her at the breakfast today.
• If you have unpaid obligations, you will not receive your tickets until those are paid. – You must pay your teacher/sponsor/coach
Arriving at UCF
• Refer to the map on the back of your info sheet
• Park in Garage F• Parking is free for the graduate’s car only• If your guests require more than 1 car, there is
a $5 parking fee and they can park in any available parking garage.

After you park
• Once you park, exit the garage on the EAST SIDE. You will see the football stadium & practice field.
Green Awning
• After leaving the east side of the garage, turn right and walk until you see a green awning.

• Parents and guests CAN NOT enter here! • Seniors only! We will open the doors at
1:30pm
Senior Check-in
• Once you enter, follow the hallway to the holding room and check in with your counselor. Double doors will be open.
• Restrooms are right here as well.
Find your Counselor’s table/line
• Check in with your counselor– They will give you your reader card and a medal– Do not clip your card onto your medal! It will fall
off.
These chairs will not be here. The floor will be empty except for your counselor tables.
Sit in YOUR ALPHA section
• Once you have checked in with your counselor, sit in your designated section. This will help the line-up process go smoothly.
Line-Up
• When we are ready, we will have you line up in # order based on your reader card number.
• If you are not sitting in the correct section, you will not be in the right order!
• It is extremely important that you listen to our instructions and follow your leader.
• There will be two sides:– Side A = Last names A-L– Side B = Last names M-Z
Side A Line-Up• Please get in number order as quickly as
possible.• You are lining up in the tunnels under the
arena and you will be standing for a while.• Please listen & follow directions through this
process!

possible.• You are lining up in the tunnels under the

Valedictorians & Salutatorians
• Once you check in with your counselor and get your reader card & medal, you can come to the VIP room.
• Go through the two sets of double doors & down the hall to the Black & Gold room.
Valedictorians & Salutatorians• Refreshments will be served• You can review your speaking roles• We will come and get you to line up• Just so you know what the inside looks like…
Entering the Ceremony
• Once everyone is lined up and ready, we will being the ceremony (promptly at 3pm)
• The band will play and both lines will enter at the same time.
• Valedictorians, Salutatorians, & platform guests will lead the line. (Blue line on diagram)
• Remain standing until we tell you to sit• Do not stand on the chairs!

Receiving Diplomas• Each row will be dismissed to line up to
receive diplomas.• We will start with the right side (Line A) and
then move to the left side (Line B).• You will exit the floor through the back right
tunnel (A side) and re-enter through the front right tunnel.
• It is important that you stay in number order
Receiving Diplomas• You will have your formal picture taken before /
after crossing the stage – Make sure your tassel is on the LEFT!
• Hand your card to the reader or reader’s assistant• Climb the stairs & cross the stage– Your name will be read as you cross the stage, so
please do not wait to hear your name before climbing the stairs!
– Please be careful so you don’t trip– Don’t attempt to do anything foolish
• Return to your seat

After Diplomas• Once everyone has crossed the stage, one of
the dignitaries will say that you are officially graduated.
• Choir will sing Alma Mater• Cannons will shoot streamers (it’s loud) • You can toss your cap (don’t poke your eye out)• Your Senior Class Song will play & we will
FORMALLY RECESS!
Formal Recession• The dignitaries, Vals, & Sals on stage will exit
first.• Sides A & B will exit together, but one row at a
time starting from the front.• PLEASE WAIT TO BE DISMISSED!• Once you exit, you will be directed to the
holding area and you can exit the way you came in – through the green awning.
• Please have a plan as to where you will meet your family – it will be very crowded!

• Enter at the front of the arena.• They will continue past the green awning to
the end of the sidewalk and turn right.

Sign Language Interpreter
• We will have several members of our ASL classes to sign the Pledge of Allegiance as well as the National Anthem.
• If your family requires a professional sign language interpreter please let Mrs. Bell or Mrs. Perry know before Tuesday, 5/27 by 12pm!
• If we do not hear from anyone, we will cancel our professional interpreter!
Rules & Regulations – DO NOT BRING:
• Seniors will be searched upon entering UCF• No decorated caps! Even if the college you are
attending provided it!– You will have to purchase a new one
• No beach balls, noise makers, or any other items that may cause a distraction or disturbance
• No gum
Cell Phone Disclaimer
• Do not use your cell phone during the ceremony!
• They should be off & not visible • Violations may result in the graduate’s
removal from the ceremony.
Behavior Disclaimer
• Graduation is a dignified ceremony• It is expected that all of our graduates (and
their guests) behave properly.• If a graduate’s or guest’s behavior becomes
inappropriate, they will be removed from the ceremony.
Dress Code• Ladies: dress or skirt, preferably shorter than your
gown, but still in TCHS dress code– Do Not bring a purse, there is no place to store it
• Men: collared shirt, tie, dark dress pants, dress shoes
• No flip-flops or tennis shoes. • Choose your shoes wisely, you will be standing a
lot and need to be comfortable. • All clothing, hair styles, & make up should be
appropriate so as not to cause a distraction or disruption.
Transcripts
• You may purchase an official transcript from Mrs. Schiraldi in guidance for $2.
Diplomas
• You do not actually get your diploma at graduation, just the cover.
• You can pick up your diploma from the guidance office after graduation.
