The DNI is the only identity card issued to Peruvian citizens and older minors, the only way of voting for

those over 18.In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of Peru, for the exercise of citizenship is required to be registered in the electoral roll of Peru and obtain the National Identity Card (before voter registration),

which, according to law, is the title for voting and also the identification document.

It is also recalled that in accordance with the provisions of the electoral law in Peru, Peruvian

citizens whose ages are between 18 and 70 years old, have the right and obligation to vote in elections

that take place in the Peru, including those living abroad.

At age 17, all Peruvians must obtain their ID showing their original birth certificate, at any office

RENIEC.
