Define each.An interview is based on a planned systematic way of questioning a witness, victim, or subject whos not yet a suspect with the purpose of obtaining information related to an incident or case with open, closed and leading questions. During an interview the Miranda Rights is not required. In which detective or whoever is gathering the information will try to have witness to be as comfortable as possible. During an interrogation the suspect is under a lot of pressure with the purpose of gathering information about a crime to get a confession or established guilt. Its a controlled and directive interrogation which may require the Miranda rights.2. What are effective techniques for interviews and interrogations? During an interview some effective techniques are to always notes, when approaching witness officer or detective should have compassion and professionalism attitude also to consider a location free of distractions. Whereas during an interrogation and factual approach is to be used were detective gives points out all the facts that shows that the suspect did commit the crime. The uses of Sympathetic Technique were detective shows compassion of the suspect situation.
