Q.1. What do you know about “Active Service & Class IV Service”? Describe them briefly. 15
Q.2. Explain the types of cases in which exemption or reduction in rent to a Government Servant are sanctioned.

Q.3. (a) Define the mileage allowance & its principles of calculation. 7.5
(b) What are the authorized modes of travel? 7.5
Q.4. Give your comments on the following actions by quoting rules:‐
(a) A Government Servant having 365 days LFP on his credit and going to be retired on superannuation has requested for encashment of LPR for 90 days and remaining balance of leave as LPR proportionately. His request can be entertained or not by the Authority?
(b) A Government Servant has applied for Study Leave for one year before two and half years of his superannuation. Can his request be entertained or not by the Authority?
(c) A Chief Engineer of Irrigation & Power Department send a case for filling up the vacant posts of Key Punch Operators either on contract or regular basis to his Administrative Secretary for approval who issued the Approval to fill up those posts on contract basis on his own level. Is there any violation of any clause of Contract Appointment Policy 2004?

Q.5. A Government Servant was drawing his pay in (BS‐15) as on 30.06.2005 as Rs. 8,320 (with Special Pay of Rs. 45/pm attached with his post). The post of the incumbent was subsequently up‐graded to (BS‐16) w.e.f. 03.04.2010. He expired during his service and left behind only one family member i.e. Widow. The descriptions of the official are as follow; Date of Birth 09.08.1956 Date of Appointment. 28.05.1979 Date of his Expiry. 30.05.2011. Work out the Last Pay drawn on the last working day of the official and calculate the family pension.
