    1.3 Te)+e! Co)+itio)s4 D!a2i)gs4 S#1e+ule o/ Rates

    The General Conditions, Tender Drawings and Schedule of ates shall #e read inconunction with this Specification. &atters descri#ed in one are not necessaril0repeated in the others.

    The Tender drawings show general la0outs, architectural features and facilities to#e pro"ided. The drawings indicate the scope of the wors and tenders 'ustco'pl0 with this, 'ini'u' re6uire'ent, howe"er roo' si>es o! ot1e! /a#ilities'a0 #e increased if re6uired to suit design and practical criteria, e6uip'ent andfittings #eing offered as -e!lo#al aut1o!it, !egulatio)s?!e7ui!e0e)t.

    The Tenderer shall "isit the site in co$ordination with C+-T and consider inhis offer for cutting, filling or an0 other ground wor re6uired for 'aintainingappropriate finished ground? surfacing le"els in relation to the near#0roads?#uildings and as per Du#ai &unicipalit0Is regulations regarding le"els.

    1.! Ciil Su6"Co)t!a#to!

    The Contractor 'a0 e'plo0 a Ci"il Su#$Contractor or use a co'petentspeciali>ed section of his own organi>ation to carr0 out the Ci"il wors. TheSu#$Contractor proposed #0 the Contractor shall #e su#ect to the appro"al ofC+-T.

    The Contractor shall su#'it details of all e0 personnel to #e e'plo0ed on theProect including positions held and curriculu' "itae.

    1.% (et1o+ State0e)t

    *t the co''ence'ent of the Contract the Contractor shall pro"ide a detailed 'ethodstate'ent. This shall include a progra''e gi"ing full details of #oth t0pe and 6uantit0of all the plant he proposes to use and the order of carr0ing out the wor.

    The Contractor shall pro"ide and 'aintain upon the site to #e a"aila#le for use #0C+-T, sa/et, e7ui-0e)ts i)#lu+i)g PPE /o! su-e!iso!, sta//4 all sur"e0ing

    instru'ents and testing e6uip'ent re6uired for setting out and 'easuring the wors andfor controlling and testing the 6ualit0 of 'aterials and wor'anship.

    2. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS

    2.1 Ge)e!al

    This section descri#es in greater detail the scope of the ci"il and #uilding worsand sets out an0 special features, which are to #e incorporated into theContractorIs design.

    The re6uire'ents for 6ualit0 of 'aterials and wor'anship are to #e found laterin this Section of this Specification.

    The design shall generall0 co'pl0 with S codes and lo#al aut1o!it,!e7ui!e0e)ts o! an0 others, which 'a0 #e rele"ant. Si'ilarl0, all 'aterials,construction and tests shall co'pl0 with applica#le codes and standards. Lateste!sio) o/ all S #o+es o! ot1e! sta)+a!+s4 s-e#i/ie+ s1all 6e /ollo2e+.

    Due attention shall #e paid in the design to all aspects including internal ande5ternal appearance, ther'al and acoustic insulation, dura#ilit0 of 'aterials,resistance to 'oisture, structural sta#ilit0, fire resistance allied to 'eans ofescape in case of fire, "entilation and pu#lic health re6uire'ents.The Specification Drawings show the preferred la0out arrange'ents of plant and

    #uildings and these shall not #e changed without the written appro"al of theC+-T. The arrange'ents shown on the Specification Drawings ha"e #een

    #ased on t0pical si>es of plant and e6uip'ent.

    The #uildings and roads within the Site and their design and detailing shallco'pl0 with a)+satisf0 the funda'ental technical and operational re6uire'entsof plant to #e acco''odated therein and with the re6uire'ents of thisspecification. oo' si>es shall not #e s'aller than shown on the SpecificationDrawings #ut 'a0 #e larger if necessar0 to 'eet the re6uire'ents of the plantactuall0 #eing supplied and identified in the technical schedules.

    The Contractor should ascertain for hi'self during the tender stage that the planthe proposes to suppl0 will #e suita#le for the arrange'ents shown onSpecification Drawings, and the Contract Price is dee'ed to include the cost ofan0 enlarged #uildings or 'odified la0out to 'eet the design para'eters. 4ailureof C+-T to co''ent on drawings su#'itted #0 the Contractor during thetender stage which show 'odified arrange'ents not co'pl0ing withSpecification Drawings and design para'eters shall not #e accepted as appro"ing

    Particular attention should #e gi"en to the positioning of doors, windows andlou"ers to 'ini'i>e the effects of sandstor's and salt laden spra0 and windsfro' the sea. Cladding, flashing and the lie shall #e as tightl0 fitting as

    practica#le so as to e5clude pollution under all liel0 local weather conditions.*ll e5ternal doors shall ha"e canop0?protection and #e sealed to pre"ent ingressof dust and wind #lown rainwater, using hea"0$dut0 seals, which shall ha"ecanop0?protection and #e guaranteed for a 'ini'u' period of fi"e 0ears fro'date of co''issioning. The doors and seals shall #e designed so thatreplace'ent of worn seals can #e achie"ed easil0 on site.

    2.2 Site Sur"e0 and Su#soil n"estigation

    The Contractor shall carr0 out the su#$soil in"estigations and in$site orla#orator0 tests re6uired to co'pletel0 satisf0 the design para'eters he choosesfor foundation or other geo$technical design. The in"estigation and su#se6uenttests shall #e in accordance with S.%93( and S.13// respecti"el0.

    Sa'ples shall #e taen as necessar0 and tested to deter'ine the ph0sical andche'ical characteristics of the "arious strata and of the ground water, ifencountered. ecords of #oring and trial e5ca"ations and results of tests onsa'ples shall #e incorporated into a su#$soil in"estigation report. This shallinclude reco''endations on the t0pe of foundation and on the design #earingcapacit0 of the su#$soil and shall #e su#'itted to C+-T for appro"al. TheContractor shall sur"e0 the site of the wors to esta#lish precisel0 the site

    #oundaries and ground le"els o"er the whole area.     Due care shall #e taen in surface water drainage design to ensure that grounderosion and flooding cannot occur, particularl0 around #uilding or e6uip'entfoundations.

    Careful attention shall #e gi"en in the design of the wors to the effect that thewors 'a0 ha"e on the surface water drainage patterns of the area. Cul"erts shall

    #e constructed if necessar0, particularl0 when e5isting natural water channels are#loced.
