the advantage of trying numerous courses, while

exploring a broad range of future career possibilities.

Students today have so many talents and skills;

all they need is the right opportunity to discover

where their strengths lie, and be provided with

the guidance and opportunity to shine.

Our students feel that the reason they are so

successful at Collegiate is that we put student

learning first and ensure a safe, equitable and

engaging environment, where everyone feels

valued and encouraged to be the best they can be.

Our students thrive in our technology-rich academic

environment, balanced with opportunities to

experience hands-on courses that let them fully

express who they are. When you walk through our

halls you will see happy, focused students who can

articulate a plan for their future, whether they are

exploring and discovering or actively engaged in

a purposeful post-secondary goal.

Collegiate prides itself in its strong tradition and

ties to the St. Catharines community; a community

where parents, staff and students work together to

achieve social and cultural development. We are so

proud of the difference our students make to our

city and to our global world.

I invite you to stop by and visit our outstanding

University level courses prepare

students for a post-secondary career

at university that may involve essays,

report writing, and research. Admission

requirements to university are six “U”

or “M” courses. University websites

are good resources to ensure that all

prerequisites are aquired for a desired

program. At the grade 9 and 10 level,

Academic level courses are necessary

to continue on this pathway.

College/Apprenticeship courses

will give students the fundamental

academic skills that are required to

pursue a post-secondary education.

The grade twelve College level

English course is a requirement for

most college level programs. Some

programs have other prerequisites as

well. Students may also be interested

in taking “M” level courses which are

also excellent preparatory courses.University - 12U

The Specialized School to Work

(SSTW) program prepares students

to enter the world of work upon

graduation. The curriculum supports

a hands-on approach to learning

with a significant focus on job training.

In senior years, students are prepared

for their employment search, and there

is a strong emphasis on co-operative

education in order to receive

on-the-job training. At the grade 9

and 10 level, Essential level courses

are recommended to continue on

this pathway.

In the Specialized School To

Community (SSTC) program

students gain independent living

and vocational skills. They receive

intensive academic and physical

supports as required. Transition to

the community is an integral part of

the program, with a focus on building

connections to community supports

as students approach graduation.
