Markets

Explore the local markets!

Prahran Market

The Prahran Market is one of the premier fresh food markets in Melbourne, Australia. It has existed on its present site in Commercial Road, South Yarra, some 200 metres from Chapel Street, for over 125 years. The market has a variety of stalls and shops selling fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and deli foods, as well as cafes. The market is not open on Mondays and Wednesdays (Sundays has selected traders only).

Queen Victoria Market

The Queen Victoria Market (also known affectionately as ‘Vic Market’ or ‘Queen Vic’) has been the heart and soul of Melbourne for more than a century. A historic landmark spread over two city blocks, it’s a vibrant and bustling inner-city Market where you can shop for everything from Australian fruit and vegetables, local and imported gourmet foods, cosmetics, clothing and souvenirs.

The Vic Market is open Tuesday & Thursday – Sunday 6am-2pm

Dishwasher

2. Turn the program knob to set the washing program.

– The on/off indicator light comes on.

Lovely fresh towels and linen for your stay!

Housekeeping

Towels and Linen

Extra towels are in the bedroom cupboard. Please do not use all the towels in the apartment, it makes it hard to get the apartment ready for the next guests. You are welcome to put on a load of washing to make the check out / cleaning process easier for everyone!

Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning can be done at E Wash:

Cleaner

For longer stays, a cleaner can be arranged at an additional fee. Please contact Jodie Willmer for details and costs. A cleaning charge of $70 is payable for each stay for Airbnb guests. As we often have guests checking in on the same day as guests checking out, please consider doing a load of towels if you have used many of them so that we can get the apartment ready for the next guests.

Cleaning Products

These are located under in the cupboards under the sink. Please read labels for information.

Page 9

Vacuum

A vacuum cleaner can be made available upon request. Please contact Jodie Willmer on for further information.

Washing machine

The washing machine is a front loader, and is easy to use. It can accommodate about 5 kg of clothes. To operate, simply put the clothes in the machine and press the door closed. No need to adjust water taps or temperature. Please only use the washing liquid provided in the cupboard (do not use washing powder).

Pull out the drawer on the left side and put the liquid in the larger section. The small section is for fabric softener. Shut the drawer. Press the “On” button at the left of the row of buttons. Select the desired washing cycle by turning the dial, the length of the cycle will show in the display window (turn dial to “2” for a normal cycle). The machine will start automatically once you have selected your desired cycle.

NOTE: It is not possible to open the door once the “Start” button has been pressed. It will have to wait until the next load.

Water Conservation

Please keep showers to a short reasonable time (under 3 minutes) and don’t leave the taps running unnecessarily. If the toilet “runs” after flushing, simply press the buttons again, and it should stop. In the bathroom, it takes a little while for the hot water to come through.

Rubbish / Recycling

To dispose of rubbish, please take your key and the fob and go down to level B1. The bins are in a room located at a diagonal from the lift well (near bike racks). The green bins are for household trash while the yellow ones are for recycling.

How 000 works

000 calls are answered by a Telstra Operator who will ask which service you require - Police, Fire or Ambulance.

The operator will ask relevant questions, and arrange an appropriate response from the local Police, Ambulance or Fire Service.

000 Calls From Mobile Phones

000 calls are free on all mobile phones. From analogue phones, 000 will connect callers, although many newer digital phones require the user to dial 112, the international standard emergency number. Consult your carrier if you are uncertain how to access the 000 emergency network.

Police Station

Local Police Station

In case of fire use the stairs located immediately to the left of the apartment as you exit the apartment door.

In the event of a fire, call 000 (triple zero) and advise the address is:

{full address – including landmarks}

The apartment is fitted with smoke detectors. The smoke detectors are sensitive to heat and smoke (NOTE: burning toast can sometimes set them off – please open a window to allow any burnt toast smell to leave the apartment. Do NOT open the apartment entrance door to let burnt toast smell out as it may set off the building fire alarm which could incur you a $2,000 fee from the local fire authority for sending fire trucks to the apartment).

To evacuate the building: walk calmly, advise other neighbours to leave, do not take your belongings (other than a small bag with personal items such as passport). Please remember to wear shoes. Do not use the lifts. Walk down the stairs. Await the fire brigade. Enter the building when advised by the fire brigade that it is safe to do so.
