You can buy more time for your parking space at any pay station within your parking zone, but only up to the maximum time limit. Once the maximum time limit is reached, re-metering is not permitted. You will need to move your vehicle to another space or park in a City parkade where the first hour is always free. Payment Options Coins or credit card are accepted at on-street pay stations located within your zone. The City Parking Card is a convenient way to refund any unused parking time. The card is $5 and can be pre-loaded at City Hall in $25 increments, weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, and at pay stations by cash or coin only (except Sundays). Your Guide to Parking DowntownThe City of Victoria operates five parkades, three surface parking lots, and has nearly 2,000 on-street spaces to choose from.

We’re committed to making parking easier.

City of Victoria Parkades City parkades offer the flexibility to enjoy all that downtown Victoria has to offer, without the worry of a parking ticket.

What You Need to Know• The first hour is always free.

• Evening parking is free Monday to Saturday, from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.

• Parking is free on Sundays and holidays.

• Lower levels are for short-term, three-hour maximum parking, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Longer-term parking is available on mid and upper levels.

• There are more payment choices. You can pay the attendant or pay at a parkade pay station before returning to your vehicle or upon exiting.

• Cash or credit card is accepted. (No debit.)

Our SafeWalk service provides you with the option of calling a parkade security guard to meet and accompany you to your vehicle.

Each City parkade has its own SafeWalk phone number, which is posted at parkade elevators, stairwells, entrances and at victoria.ca/parking.

City parkades are open 24 hours, offer 24/7 on-site security, and are conveniently located within two blocks of all downtown attractions.

Electric Vehicle Stations: 1 – 3 charging stations in each parkade. Regular parkade rates apply.

With the first hour FREE, it’s only $2 to park for two hours in a City parkade.

TIP: You need your entry ticket to exit a parkade, even when parking is free.

$2 Per Hour (15 minute increments)

$12 Vehicle Day Rate $14 (Bastion Square Parkade due to high demand)

$4 Motorcycle Day Rate Note: motorcycle parking is not available

at Johnson Street Parkade

A lost ticket is charged the day rate.

City parkades offer designated parking spaces near elevators for people with disabilities and for parents with young children.

On-Street Parking There are nearly 2,000 on-street parking spaces in downtown Victoria. Historically, much of the on-street parking has had a time limit of 90 minutes.

To provide flexibility and choice to our customers, we now offer five parking zones, ranging from $1.50 to $3 per hour with time limits from 90 minutes to 24 hours.
