The English for Engineers International Summer Programme is aimed at university level engineering students of all disciplines who wish to improve their English for use in an engineering context.

Aims of the English for Engineers International Summer Programme

The main aims of the course are to develop participants’ ability to communicate when using English in an engineering context and to give them an opportunity to experience engineering in the UK.

Entry requirements

入学要求

Participants are expected to have a minimum English level of IELTS

4.5 or equivalent. Alternative English qualifications will be accepted or we may be able

Participants must be aged 18 or over. 参加者必须年满 18 岁或以上。

Accommodation

住宿

Accommodation will be in self-

catered accommodation within

walking distance of the campus

and the city centre. 自助式住宿将被安排在校园和市中心的步行距离内。

Participants will be housed in a single study bedroom with ensuite bathroom and will

share kitchen and bathroom facilities. All bills and Wi-Fi access are included. 每人有自

The City of Plymouth 美丽的普利茅斯

普利茅斯交通便捷，距伦敦 310 公里，乘火车大约 3 个半小时的车程，距离德文郡首府埃克塞特仅 58 公里，乘

火车约 50 分钟。附近的埃克塞特和布里斯托都有国际机场，有航班飞往英国其他城市或者其他欧洲城市，甚至直达

美国等国家。

普利茅斯市中心拥有众多现代化商场和大型购物中心，皇家剧院频繁上演包括芭蕾舞，现代舞，歌剧，话剧在内

的众多剧目，艺术画廊，电影院，水族馆，酒吧街等都是大众休闲娱乐的首选场所。大面积天然的海域和港湾为诸如

潜水，皮划艇，冲浪，滑板等海上运动造就了天然的独特条件，而骑车，骑马，爬山，散步则是非常受欢迎的陆地运

Throughout the two weeks students will be involved in a range of engineering lectures based around

materials and project based learning. These will include basic CAD, materials testing and project

based learning techniques. 在这两周的时间里,

Students will be led through various stages in order to be able to present their project.

The focus will be on students improving their academic skills with a focus on
