Barrels measure 99mm from lower facing flange to top of barrel and 92mm from lower flange to mating face with Visa head. The base uses O ring seals around each pushrod tunnel exit. The barrel face where it meets the head is flat and has no provision for O ring seal which must therfore be entirely situated on head.

ENGINE BREATHER. An old engine will often be covered with oil on the outside and drips on the ground. The apparently simple engine breather, when in working condition (they don’t last forever, 5 yrs. maximum), creates a partial vacuum inside the crankcase which means that at the point of a potential oil leak the engine tends to suck air in rather than leak! If you open the lid with engine running oil and fumes will always gush out. On each down stoke of the piston any air inside the crankcase is compressed, if pressure cannot escape the resulting power loss can be 2bhp. (5mph from top speed, 6mpg consumption increase). Fitting new often improves starting too!

CPD valve (crankcase pressure dump valve), fit this instead of a new breather, includes 4 clips.

L.H.M. brake fluid, unlike normal synthetic/universal fluid, is very similar to engine oil (you could even use that in an emergency!) KINGPIN. Kingpins are the same as they where on 1948 2cv, so they are a slightly primitive device, however, if frequently greased they are safe and reliable. We are frequently asked whether a car will pass an MOT test on worn kingpins or other items - your MOT tester can tell you that! We just need to sell you lots of parts! However:- TOP KINGPIN TIPS: 1] Use grease with molybdenum disulphide. 2] Always raise wheel before greasing. 3] Grease pins every 600 miles (1000kms). 4] Grease pins immediately before MOT test! 5] Don’t replace both if only one is worn! Kingpins can often be loose in the suspension arm eye even after fitting new, this can be a result of using excessive heat to help in removal (don’t use heat!) or simply wear through having had several sets of pins in years past. The solution is to fit a new suspension arm.

TRACK ROD END. We are frequently asked for a 2cv track rod end, there is no such thing because it is made up from individual components. A popular mis-conception is that the 2cv track rod end is adjustable, in fact it is of a 1930s design which simply requires very careful adjusting during initial assembly. Because the ball end was a sphere if consequent wear has made this oval and the play is adjusted out the ball will break off leaving you with no steering!

EXHAUST WARRANTY. Beyond 15 months our rust-through exhaust warranty is just that, it does not warrant against fracture. The warranty (non – transferable) works like this, exhaust must be purchased directly from us at mail order catalogue prices. onwards, if it rusts through before the stated warranty time we replace it free of charge but you must pay carriage charges, we would not require any failed part.

None of the smaller print affects (or seeks to affect) your statutory rights.



Terms & Conditions. 1. These Terms & Conditions supersede those published in any prior sales literature. Orders placed and accepted are deemed to be in accordance with these conditions. 2. Product specifications and conditions of sale may be amended without prior warning. Quotations may be withdrawn without notice at any time prior to acceptance of order. 3. You have the right to return goods within 7 days from delivery without providing any reason, goods must be saleable, in the same condition as supplied to you and within any manufacturer's packaging supplied to you with the goods. Any credit due will be made within 7 days of return in the condition described above, goods must be returned at your own expense & risk in carriage, carriage is to be arranged by yourself. It is vital that your post code is included with your request. The returns number should be quoted on all correspondence relating to the return. A returns address will be provided with the returns number. Please ensure, if you use the post office, that you obtain a certificate of posting (provided free) from the Post Office. Product must be complete, including packaging in the same condition as supplied. Incomplete or defaced goods will not be accepted for return. 7. Other than as specified above, all prices are subject to change without prior notice. 8. Shortages, damaged or wrong goods supplied should be returned within 10 days of receipt of goods. Our aim is to provide a fast delivery service, however circumstances beyond our control may extend this by a day or two. If a delay of greater than 72 hours is expected we will contact you. It is IMPORTANT therefore that Non-delivery should be reported to Ecas 2cv Parts Limited within 10 days of ORDER date. Beyond that date there are great difficulties in claiming from our delivery agents. 9. Disputes and complaints should be made directly to us by email or in writing. Your dispute or complaint will be acknowledged within 5 working days and we will aim to resolve it within 10 working days. You will be provided the name of the person handling your complaint at the time of acknowledgement. 10. We aim to despatch goods on the working day after receipt of order except if the order is received by our server by 07.00hrs GMT then we aim to despatch the same working day, customers will be advised if this is not the case. Most goods are sent by our carriers' 24hr services or 1st Class Royal Mail, the aim of which is that they should arrive the next working day after despatch wherever possible. 11. Goods are guaranteed to the extent of the guarantee (if any) of the manufacturers and these are offered, where available, in addition to your statutory rights.
