Ford’s Beginning

Today’s Ford Motor Company was founded by its name sake, Henry

Ford.

The company that bears his name was founded in Dearborn, Michigan.

It was incorporated on June 17,1903.

Ford Sales First Car

July 23,1903 Ford sales the first of many of the iconic Model

A’s.

The Model T

On October 1, 1908 the first Model T was made available to

the public and continued until 1927.

Ford During World War 2

On February 10, 1942 World War 2 halts civilian car

production.

Ford concentrates on Tanks and planes for war effort.

Release of the Mustang

In 1964 a design team headed by future Ford CEO Lee

Lacocca begins production of a new class of cars by

introducing the mustang.

Ford F-series Trucks

Ford F-Series trucks became the best selling vehicle in the

United states for its tenth consecutive year in 1992.

Ford in Racing

Ford has a long history in motor sports. Racing and winning

in all forms of motor racing at many tracks throughout the

world.

Fords Continue To Run The Company

In 1999, Ford Motor Company’s

Board of Directors elects William

Clay Ford, Jr., A great-grandson of

Henry Ford, Chairman of the Board.

Car of the Year

In 2011, Motor Trends’ names Ford Thunderbird “Car of the

Year” for an unprecedented fourth time.

100th Anniversary

Ford Motor Company Celebrates its 100th Anniversary on June

16,2003.
