    Product Features

    he watch operates by converting sunlight into electrical energy, which is stored in a rechargeablebattery. Te rechargeable battery is a clean energy source that does not contain mercury or other harmulsubstances. When the watch is ully charged, it wi ll operate continuously or approximately seven months.

    How to use the screw down crown and screw down push button

    Unlock Lock

    * Unlocking is not required when a standard crown and button are equipped.

    Tis watch uses a built-in rechargeable cell to store electrical energy.Charge the watch by exposing the dial to light such as direct sunlight oruorescent lamps.

    Recharging your watch

    To ensure optimal operation, be sure to perorm the ollowing.

    5 to 6 hours.

    Whenyoutakeyourwatchoff,besuretoplaceitinalocation

    where the dial can receive light. An ideal location might be a

    window sill where it can receive direct sunlight.

    Wearing clothes that cover the watch may inhibit suicient light rom reaching thewatch ace, resulting in insucient charging.Avoid charging the watch under high temperature conditions (approximately60C/140F or more).

    I the reserve power becomes insucient(Insucient Charge Warning Function)

    When the rechargeable cell charge reaches a low

    power state, the Insuicient Charge Warning

    Function engages. his cause the second hand

    to move in two-second intervals (two-second

    interval movement). Be sure to immediately ully

    charge your timepiece by exposing it to light.

    Two-secondintervalmovementcontinuesforsomesevendaysuntilthewatchstopscompletely due to battery depletion.

    When the watch is operating in the two-second interval mode (lowpower/insucient charge warning), you cannot operate chronograph.

    Setting the Time

    Pull the crownout to position2.

    Pull out the crown just as thesecond hand is at the reerenceposition in order to accuratelyalign to the second.

    Rotate the crown toset the time.

    he 24-hour hand (lo-cated at the 9:00 subdial)moves in relation to thehour hand. Determinewhether it is a.m. or p.m.by observing the 24-hourhand.

    he chronograph minute/second hands may be come misaligned i thewatch is subjected to a strong knock.I the position cannot be corrected by using the reset procedures outlinedon pages 12-13, please contact your nearest Authorized Service Center.

    Te chronograph does not unction i the crown is pulled out to position 2.Te chronograph resets i the crown is pulled out to position 2 during measurement.

    o start the chronograph, press and release the upper right button (B) tocommence time measurement.

    o stop the chronograph, press and release the upper right button (B) again.

    o recommence timing rom the stopped position, press and release theupper right button (B) again.

    CAUTION

    Be sure to use the watch with the crown pressed in (normal position). I yourwatch has a screw down crown, be sure to tighten the crown completely.

    Do NO operate the crown or button with wet ingers or when the watch is wet.Water may enter the watch and compromise water-resistance.

    I the watch is used in seawater, rinse with resh water aterward and wipe with adry cloth.

    I moisture has entered the watch, or i the inside o the crystal is ogged up anddoes not become clear within a day, immediately take the watch to your dealer

    or Citizen Service Center or repair. Leaving the watch in such a state will allowcorrosion to orm inside.

    I seawater enters the watch, place the watch in a box or plastic bag andimmediately take it in or repair. Otherwise, pressure inside the watch will increase,and parts (crystal, crown, buttons, etc.) may come o.

    WARNING Water-resistance perormance

    Water-resistance or daily use (to 3 atmospheres): his type o watch is water-resistant to minor exposure to water. For example, you may wear the watch whilewashing your ace; however, it is not designed or use underwater.

    Upgraded water-resistance or daily use (to 5 atmospheres): his type o watchis water-resistant to moderate exposure to water. You may wear the watch whileswimming; however, it is not designed or use while skin diving.

    Upgraded water-resistance or daily use (to 10/20 atmospheres): his type o watchmay be used or skin diving; however, it is not designed or scuba or saturated

    diving using helium gas.

    CAUTION Operating environment

    Use the watch within the operating-temperature range speciied in the instructionmanual. Using the watch where temperatures are outside the speciied range, mayresult in deterioration o unctions or even stoppage o the watch.

    Do NO use the watch in places where it is exposed to high temperature, such asin a sauna. Doing so may result in a skin burn.

    Do NO leave the watch in a place where it is exposed to high temperature, such asthe glove compartment or dash-board o a car. Doing so may result in deteriorationo the watch, such as deormation o plastic parts.

    Do NO place the watch close to a magnet. imekeeping will become inaccuratei you place the watch close to magnetic health equipment such as a magneticnecklace or a magnetic latch o a rerigerator door or handbag clasp or theearphone o a mobile phone. I this has occurred, move the watch away rom themagnet and reset the time.

    Do NO place the watch close to household appliances that generate staticelectricity. imekeeping may become inaccurate i the watch is exposed to strongstatic electricity, such as is emitted rom a V screen.

    CAUTION Keep your watch clean

    Leaving dust and dirt deposited between the case and crown may result indiiculty in pulling the crown out. Rotate the crown while in its normal position,rom time to time, to loosen dust and dirt and then brush it o.Dust and dirt tend to be deposited in gaps in the back o the case or band.Deposited dust and dirt may cause corrosion and soil your clothing. Clean thewatch occasionally.

    Cleaning the Watch

    Use a sot cloth to wipe o dirt, perspiration and water rom the case and crystal. Use a sot, dry cloth to wipe o perspiration and dirt rom the leather band.o clean a metal, plastic, or rubber watchband, wash away dirt with mild soap andwater. Use a sot brush to remove dust and dirt jammed in the gaps in the metalband. I your watch is not water-resistant, take it to your dealer.

    Note: Avoid using solvents (thinner, benzine, etc.), as they may damage the inish.

    Periodical inspectionsYour watch needs inspection once in every two or three years or saety and long use.o keep your watch water-resistant, the packing needs to be replaced regularly. Otherparts need to be inspected and replaced i necessary.Ask or Citizen genuine parts upon replacement.

    Do NO subject the watch to a strong shock such as dropping it onto a hard loor.

    Avoid using the watch in an environment where it may be exposed to chemicals orcorrosive gases. I solvents, such as thinner and benzine, or substances containingsuch solvents come in contact with the watch, discoloration, melting, cracking, etc.may result. I the watch comes in contact with mercury used in thermometers, thecase, band or other parts may become discolored.
