Our CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice is the essential foundation you need to begin or advance in your HR career. As the Certificate is slightly shorter than the Diploma (6 units instead of 8), you’ll focus on the essentials and gain your qualification in less time.
You’ll be able to understand the function of HR and learn the principles, processes and strategies involved in successful personnel management.
You’ll gain the specialist skills and knowledge you need to succeed in any entry-level HR position - and all without giving up your job, family time or social life. Your study can be completely shaped to suit you.
This course is perfect for you if:
You’re just starting out in your HR career, or are working in an HR support role but don’t have a formal qualification
You want to become an Associate Member of the CIPD
You want to progress to higher levels of CIPD study, such as the Level 5 Intermediate Diploma
You’re a line manager responsible for people management, development and training
Why this course is right for you
Before I had completed the course I didn’t think a CIPD qualification was absolutely necessary, because I felt I had the experience, so why did I need to have the paperwork? But after having done the course, it definitely gives you a lot of understanding of HR that I didn’t have previously. I would definitely sign up with ICS Learn again.
Dawn Fish, CIPD Level 3 Diploma in HRP

My course advisor went through my background, what I already knew about HR, where did I want to go, what kind of roles I wanted, how I could pay for it (interest free payments!) and what qualification would suit me best, specifically Diploma vs Certificate. I will also say that ICS Learn were the most competitive by a long shot. I signed up there and then and started my first module the same day! I have since secured a job as an HR Manager for a national retail brand. I would not have been able to do this without the support from ICS Learn and their amazing tutors. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Delivering Learning and Development ActivitiesThis unit will give you the knowledge and skills required to deliver planned L&D activities in one-to-one, small group and large group sessions. A learning and development needs analysis may identify organisational challenges or problems affecting employees, for example, major organisational change, the introduction of new operations or systems and/or the maintenance of existing operations or systems.
Supporting Good Practice in Performance and Reward Management
Supporting Good Practice in Managing Employment Relations
This unit gives you an introduction to the purpose and processes of performance and reward management, and the role of HR in promoting and supporting good practice. Studying this unit will enable you to develop your understanding of how motivational theories and associated tools can be used within the context of performance and reward management and how these can have a positive impact on an organisation’s business objectives.
Managing the employment relationship effectively is a key part of the role of the HR practitioner. This unit aims to introduce a number of aspects of this task and to provide an introduction to employment law within the context of employee relations. It starts with an explanation of the employment relationship and the key parties that are involved within it. It then focuses on different aspects of HR activity, looking at good practice and legal requirements within each activity.
