Points for Discussion Is cloud computing mainly perceived as cost reduction?

– Has corporate perception of global economy brightened?– Does CapEx containment or OpEx control dominate discussion?

– Or is the cloud’s role in process acceleration seizing spotlight?

Is cloud now perceived as more of a mainstream option?– Are security, governance and compliance still major issues?– Has “cloudwashing” by old-guard vendors created confusion?

Is collaboration a rising priority?– Does the “Facebook Imperative” resonate with management?– Is it what business units wish they could have in the workplace?

How does the role of the CIO evolve – or transform?

In Conclusion

The cloud means context and connection: not merely better than on-premise, but fundamentally different.

The cloud means speed and flexibility, plus superior disaster readiness – not just improved cost-effectiveness. Achieve cloud leverage, or prepare to greet your replacement.

Your cloud extends beyond your walls: services like Chatter and Content deliver greatest benefits network-wide.

Security is essential, but don’t get bogged down in governance apparatus that’s more than you’re required to have and much more than you need.

The vast majority of IT offerings are not right for your company. Ask questions and demand informative answers.
