THE BIGGESTCINEMA ON INDIAN CELLULOID
Indian Cinema has witnessed drastic changes in the past few
years in all the departments. The market of Indian cinema has crossed the boundaries and the films with stuff have minted huge
money in many International markets where language is a
barrier. Some of the South Indian movies have even been competing
with the vast Bollywood movies which fetched positive results. Now maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli who got national recognition with his movies is coming up with a
periodic drama titled Baahubali.

coverSTORY
The movie has been shot for over 2 years and the budget of the movie has been huge for a South Indian film. Sources say that the makers have spent around Rs 200 crores
on the movie which has been shot simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages. SS Rajamouli has worked out on the movie for over six years which may sound strange but this passionate filmmaker has even bigger dreams to show Baahubali as a film with International standards.
At just 41 years, Rajamouli is one of the few directors stars call up to ask if he has a role for them. Producers offered him Rs 10 crore in fees way back in 2010. In an industry where movies are completely star-oriented, Rajamouli has changed the formula by never sticking to a formula.
When Eega was being made, his detractors would snigger, “How can a fly be a hero?” But when
Eega broke records, the same producers watched with green-eyed envy. Rajamouli has consistently denied copying Eega from the Australian short film Cockroach, but even if he did, the emotions in the fly seemed so human viewers forgave him.

“BAAHUBALI IS LIKE AN AVENGERS OR
GAME OF THRONES, WHERE THE VIEWER
WOULD BE MORE INVOLVED IN THE
FILM RATHER THAN THE STARS,” promises
Shobu. About a decade ago, Rajamouli told this
correspondent, “I WANT TO MAKE A MOVIE LIKE
BRAVEHEART, WHICH HAS EVERYTHING—LOVE, PATRIOTISM,
EMOTIONS, ACTION.” Indeed, he appears close to
fulfilling this ambition with the multilingual Baahubali, which
might just be India’s answer to Hollywood’s big-budget, big-
emotion sagas.
The theatrical trailer of the film has been released recently and it has been receiving
exceptional response from the film circles and movie lovers. The expectations have reached the borders and the destructive trailer made the film dream even bigger. Even the most popular film celebrities of Bollywood have been taking their time to praise SS Rajamouli and his work for Baahubali.
Young Rebel Star Prabhas and Anushka Shetty are playing the lead roles in Baahubali and Rana Daggubati, Tamannah Bhatia will be seen in the other lead roles.
Nassar, Satyaraj, Sudeep, Adivi Sesh and Ramya Krishna will be seen in other prominent roles in the movie. MM Kreem is composing the music along with the background score. KK Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer and Sabu Cyril is the art director. Peter Hein composed the action sequences and Shobu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni are producing the film on Arka Media Works banner.
Bollywood’s promising filmmaker Karan Johar has bagged the theatrical rights of the movie for Hindi and he will release the movie all over in Hindi through his Dharma Productions banner. The movie has done a terrific pre release business all over in all the languages and it is in final stages of post production. Baahubali will complete all the formalities and will release all over on July 10th. The makers along with the team are quite confident on the film and Baahubali is getting ready to entertain the audience with wonderful visuals. Hope the film will live up the expectations and end up as history in Indian Cinema.

Last week, the good people of Arka Media Works invited me down to Hyderabad in South India, the home of Telugu Cinema, to visit Ramoji Film City and the set of their long-
awaited medieval epic, Baahubali.
The film, which stars “Young Rebel” Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati, is directed by S.S. Rajamouli, who should be well-known around these parts as the man responsible for the epic fly action spectacular Eega, which took audiences around the
world by storm a couple of years ago.
Set to be released in two parts, and being filmed simultaneously in both Telugu and Tamil, Baahubali is set to be the most expensive Indian movie ever made, but anticipation for its release is so great it is almost guaranteed to be a monster hit. The first part, Baahubali:
The Beginning, will be unleashed on audiences across India and NRI strongholds in July, with the second half likely to be released in the first half of 2016.
BBaahubaliTake A Peek At The Set Of S.S. RAJAMOULI’S Medieval Epic BAAHUBALI
Over the next few days we will be publishing some juicy tidbits I
gathered during my trip, including an interview
with Rajamouli himself, as well as other key
members of the crew. Firstly, however, I just wanted to give you a
little look at one of the major sets for the film that I was allowed to
visit and photograph, as well as one of the major property storage rooms.

- AMITABH BACHCHAN
We normally see this kind of structure and this kind of action or whatever the framework is in some of the more progressive Hollywood films but to have to see this here in India is amazing. I should have been in this project.

Just because of the quality’M of film we decided to dub it as `IVIakkhir. The pace and the way he has made it is just mind blowing.

Among the current star directors, Rajamouli garu is the only one who is breaking boundaries. Be it Maryada Ramanna or Eega he can handle any kind of film. That’s what you call a director.
