The CIMA Gateway RouteThe gateway route is a great way to fast track onto the CIMA Professional Quali�cation and earn the highly valued CGMA designation.This fast track route enables eligible individuals to progress directly to the �nal level of the CIMA Professional Quali�cation (Strategic level), upon passing the CIMA Gateway Exam. The CIMA Gateway Exam is also known as the Management Case Study exam for those not on the accelerated route. Individuals who hold an MBA or Master’s Degree in Accounting or passed �nalist of professional bodies such as ACCA, SAICA, etc are eligible for gateway route. Members of International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) are also eligible. Furthermore, UNISA’s Certi�cate in the Theory of Management Accounting (CTMA) or the Post Graduate Diploma in Management Accounting enables your access through the CIMA Gateway route.

How does the Gateway Exam work?Eligible individuals are required to take the CIMA Gateway Exam (also known as the Management Level Case Study). The exam is:

• a computer based case study exam• three hours long & available every February, May, August and November• assesses knowledge and competencies covered in the Management level (E2/P2/F2) of the CIMA Professional Quali�cation

hand-out of support notes + Role of E/P/F Pillars.

2. The ICS assessment aims and learning outcomes in relation to theexam verb hierarchy + quick review of syllabus for the level.

3. Your role/level, the TRIGGERS & TASKS in relation to the level + theassessment framework/marking grid in relation to CIMA’s competencyFramework: Technical, Business, People (incl. communication) andLeadership

skills.

PRESEEN REVIEW: Detailed paragraph-by-paragraph + schedule/exhibit-by-schedule/exhibit focused on application of all technical model/frameworks/concepts from your syllabus/OT exams

DAY 2: 8:00am - 4:00pm (with breaks in between)

COMPLETION OF PRESEEN REVIEW from above/last session + Mapping of the key issues identified to the CIMA Competency Framework to develop insight to the range and scope of TRIGGER & TASKS likely to be resolved/encountered on exam day
