TheCIMAGlobalBusinessChallenge(GBC)isauniqueglobalbusinesscompetitiondesignedtodiscoverandnurturefuturebusinessleaders.ItssuccesshasmadeitoneofCIMA’sannualflagshipevents.Thecompetition,whichisinitsfifthyear,isopentoallstudentsstudyingfortheirfirstdegree.In2012,85%ofentrantswereinterestedinacareerinbusinessmanagement,financeoraccounting(GBC2012surveyofentrants).

ThecompetitionisbasedonapreviousTestofProfessionalCompetencyinManagementAccountingcasestudy(thefinalexamintheCIMAqualification)whichisadaptedtosuitundergraduatelevel.AllcompetitionmaterialisdevelopedspecificallyfortheGBC.Participantswriteabusinessreportbasedonthegivenscenario.Shortlistedteamsthenprogresstothelocalfinal,wheretheywillpresenttheirreporttoapaneloflocalbusinessleaders.Thewinningteamwillrepresenttheircountry/regionattheglobalfinalandcompetetobecomeglobalchampion.
