CII FOUNDATION CII & CIIF COVID RELIEF INTERVENTIONS – 2ND WAVE OF COVID-19 IN INDIA Southern Region CII Kerala with the help of its Member companies is setting up Centralized Oxygen Manifold System in Government Hospitals across Kerala. The system facilitates direct delivery of pressurized oxygen through wall-mounted outlets close to the patient's bed from the centralized system.The system will be implemented in 20 Government Hospitals identified by the District National Health Mission which are being converted as COVID care centres. The project will create around 970 beds with Oxygen outlets close to patient’s bed. The total estimated cost of this project would be Rs.1.9 Crore. The funds are being mobilized through the CII Member companies.This included CII Foundation supported two hospitals (85 beds) with oxygen Manifold system and the works have commenced. In addition we are also in constant interactions with Local self-Governments and supporting in mobilizing Provisions for Community Kitchen that caters food to persons and families in isolation due to COVID-19 (1900 food packet daily both lunch and dinner) and majority of them are daily wage workers. Presently Rs.1 Lakh worth provisions including Rice, Atta, Dal, Bengal gram, green gramand and Curry powders are distributed. CII Kerala has conducted work place vaccination in 3 companies reaching 463 beneficiaries.Member companies such as Peekay Steels has shifted their oxygen plant to the medical college to support the oxygen need CII has connected the Kerala Government to international and national level suppliers of medical necessities.

Southern Region

⚫ Yi Puducherry provided 5000 Masks and 10 Liters of Hand Sanitizer to be distributed to citizens in marketplace with the help of police. Additionally, 400 of Low Molecular Weight Heparin Medicine, 10,00,000 Sanitizer sachets and 1,50,000 three ply mask were provided to the health department with the support of member companies.

⚫ Around 10 Yi members also donated blood at JIPMER hospital in Puducherry to

support COVID-19 patients

⚫ In CII Telangana companies such as Natco and TCS have setup makeshift hospitals at their premises and a few more makeshift hospitals/ COVID care centres with a 50-bed capacity are being facilitated. In Telangana CII is also working with Government and Government Hospitals to setup ICU beds, provide Ventilators, oxygen cylinders and so on with the help of membership. (CII Connected ITC to Health Minister for supplying of Oxygen to the Government Hospitals in Telangana. 4MT of Oxygen is being supplied every day.)

⚫ CII Karnataka has formed 8 working groups under the COVID Task Force that is

working with the Government in a focused manner. Under this, 550 concentrators have been ordered (5 LPM & 10 LPM), 5000 Oxygen Cylinders from Singapore and 2 Ventilators have been procured for Mysore

⚫ CII Karnataka has facilitated issue of Letter of Intent for 7 PSA Plant: 6 PSA plants

in Mangalore 1 PSA plants Udipi

⚫ 80 ICU beds are being set up with the support of member companies at the CV Raman Hospital and the Epidemic Hospital. 4 beds are being added in Peenya as well.Members have supported towards COVID care center also in setting up over 400 beds additionally 100 more are to be set up

⚫ A portal/website/app has been launched (https://blrforhumanity.com/) by Yi

Bangalore Social media campaign with Poster containing Verified COVID-19 information and videos. CII Tamil Nadu member WABCO has donated medical Equipment worth One Crore to Government Hospitals in Chennai. Following were few items given:

• CII Tamil Nadu facilitated Vaccination drives in multiple companies

coordinating with the government and more than 50000 employees of

member companies inoculated across the State.

• CII Salem is working towards providing space for COVID care unit through

conversion of a Marriage Hall

• CII - Yi Coimbatore are also working on setting up COVID support Helpline for

members companies and their families with the support of Member

Hospitals

Western Region

Interventions in Maharashtra

⚫ Two tele ICU hospitals have been set up in government hospitals in Manchar

and Bhor districts in Pune. The Tele-ICU installed last year is continuing in

Aurangabad, Jalna and Gadchiroli.

⚫ The Chairs and Vice Chairs of the zones including Pune, Vidarbha, Marathwada,

Thane, Southern and Northern Maharashtra are in touch with

district administration to help and provide support as an when required by

the district administration.

⚫ Endress + Hauser provided 5 ventilators to Government Medical College &

Hospital, Aurangabad out of which 2 were through CII Foundation

⚫ 33 ventilators have been provided to Government Medical College & Hospital,

Aurangabad by member companies

⚫ RL Steels & Energy Ltd provided more than 500 oxygen cylinders to Nandurbar

Municipal Corporation, Nashik

⚫ Siemens provided 2 RTPCR Testing machines, 1 RNA Extraction Machine and 1

lakh RTPCR Testing kits to Government Medical College & Hospital, Aurangabad

⚫ Blue Star Ltd, Blue Star Foundation and Sany Heavy Industries Pvt Ltd)

provided 5 mortuary chambers to BJ Govt Medical College and Sasoon

Government Hospital, Pune

⚫ Rajratan Global Wires donated 2000 PPE Kits to Maharashtra through CII

Foundation

Madhya Pradesh

• CII Members at Indore are pooling funds through CII Foundation to support

‘Indore Citizens Forum for Covid Response – ICFCR’, an initiative coordinated

under the leadership of Indore district administration by supporting a

Community Makeshift hospital facility of 500 beds. Till date 500 Corrugated ICU

beds have been donated through CII Foundation to the newly established Maa

Ahilya COVID Care Centre at Indore through CII Foundation

• 60 oxygen concentrators have been facilitated through CII Foundation and

would be delivered on 7th May to various hospitals and Government

Community Health Centres in Indore, Pithampur, Bhopal & Gwalior

• CII in MP, mobilised members and arranged for 60 empty Oxygen Cylinders for

hospitals and nursing homes at Indore & Bhopal on returnable basis and 25

oxygen cylinders for hospitals and nursing homes.

• Pratibha Syntex donated 1000 beds, 500 PPE Kits & Hospital clothing for 2000

patients to the Maa Ahilya COVID Care centre at Indore

• JK Tyre Ltd donated 500 packets of medicines & 5 Oxygen Concentrators to District Administration and Chief Medical officer at Gwalior & Morena districts for supplying to COVID-19 patients with mild & severe infection in Gwalior & Morena.

• In Gujarat, Anupam Rasayam India Ltd donated a 35-bed oxygen generation

plant to a COVID Isolation Centre in Navsari district

• In Goa, Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has offered the Government of Goa to setup an “Onsite Oxygen Generating Plant” at South Goa District Hospital. The proposed Oxygen Plant will generate medical oxygen @ 960 litres per minute and will be setup within a month.

• GSL is also providing a total number of 40 Oxygen Concentrators

Northern Region

Haryana

• Hero MotoCorp have donated 15 Oxygen Cylinders at Rewari Hospital for

over 100 Covid-19 Patients.

• CII Haryana in association with P&G donated Face masks - 50,000 and Sanitizer - 200 litres.

• Raytheon Technologies donated 1000 Oxygen Concentrators through the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum to Red Cross and arranging 4 Oxytrucks with pre fitted oxygen cylinders & PPE kits in the next two weeks.

Rajasthan

• NBC donated as on date 42 oxygen cylinders donated in Govt Hospitals.

• Man Structurals Organised Vaccination drive in their campus with support from CII wherein more than 135 employees & family members got vaccinated

• JCB as on date 20 oxygen cylinders donated in Govt Hospitals

• Bhiwadi Manufacturers Association (BMA) supported with 500 oxygen cylinders to administration and Organised Vaccination drive in their campus wherein more than 200 employees & family members got vaccinated.

• 375 oxygen cylinders have been provided to administration by member companies

• Balaji Industrial Products Supported 15 oxygen cylinders on request of CII in Govt Hospitals.

• Hindustan Zinc Providing 5 tonnes oxygen to administration daily basis.

• Paytm in Rajasthan confirmed CII to support Rajasthan Govt with an Oxygen Generator plant for the state. CII connected the concern officials with administration for further coordination.

• CII members Venkateswara Wires, Balaji Industrial Products, M/s Basant Fibertek Pvt. LTD provided 375 corrugated beds to Govt for setting up of Bilwa Covid Centre.

Uttrakhand

• Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals have started operation of a 250 bedded Covid Care Centre at SIDCUL, HARIDWAR, first phase is now operational from 28/4/21 with 100 beds. The Centre is equipped with 24 * 7 service of Qualified Medical and Paramedical staff, availability of medicines, fooding, and Ambulance services along with Oxygen concentrator. All services are open for all at free of cost Akums is committed to service to humanity.

• In the midst of the National crisis due to ongoing Covid pandemic, the Haridwar Unit of Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has come forward to supply oxygen to supplement the availability of medical oxygen in state. BHEL Haridwar has already started the production of Oxygen and refilling of gaseous oxygen cylinders. 2500 cubic meters of liquid oxygen has been supplied in last 2 days to Hospitals/ District Administration of Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand.

• Century Pulp & Paper provided 20 beds costing Rs 5.5 lacs to Dr Sushila Tiwari Hospital. They also provided 10 oxygen cylinders to District Administration in Udhamsingh Nagar, Uttarakhand

• GBKC Fashions gave 10 PPE Kits to Tejaswini Associations front line workers for giving food to covid patients in hospitals.

Uttar Pradesh

• Oxygen Generator donated by CII member Yash Pakka Limited which is installed at Dharshan Nagar Ayodhya Covid ward which will supply oxygen to 10 beds.

• CII member Kanpur Plastipack Limited have donated Rs 7 Lakhs to Kulwanti

hospital to help them to add ventilator support under Covid Care.

• UP member P N International (Karam) – Mr Rajesh Nigam, will donate 50,000

masks and 50,000 face shields to Khalsa aid who are tirelessly working for

the cause of Corona.

• Sanitation kits & Food distribution in Delhi by CII Foundation

Eastern Region

• Jharkhand –

• Yi Jamshedpur COVID-19 Guide - Yi Jamshedpur has been supporting people for oxygen and other emergencies. They have launched the website launched the website www.jamshedpurfightscovid.in which

has all essential contacts of services and vendors for Jamshedpur for the same.

• West Bengal –

o COVID-19 City Specific App: The Yi Siliguri COVID-19 Task Force has launched

the first city specific COVID-19 Web Based App (https://covidslg.glideapp.io/)

which has all the necessary & verified information to fight with the pandemic

in an organised & relatively hassle free manner.

o Free Ambulance Service: CII North Bengal in association with Star Cement

and CREDAI North Bengal is providing free Ambulance Service exclusively for

COVID-19 patients in the local area.

o Supply of Oxygen: CII - Yi in collaboration with Rotary Club of Belur, Susrut

Eye Foundation and Research Centre and Opthalmological Society of West

Bengal have joined hands to provide oxygen for needy people who are

awaiting hospitalisation.

o Free Distribution of COVID-19 Essentials - CII North Bengal in association

with North Bengal Merchants’ Association organised Free distribution of

Masks and Ward Sanitization drive of Ward Nos 7, 8 & 9 in Siliguri on 01 May

2021.

o Young Indians, Kolkata Chapter have taken up a number of initiatives to help

combat the rising Covid 19 pandemic.

• Setting up of website by Yi Kolkata

access services required. These include safe homes, medecines, donors,

labs, volunteers and more. Potential plasma donors are also being

identified and kept on standby if required.

• A Covid Task Force has also been setup who are daily helping a number of patients in various ways such as Food distribution, checking in on health patients and infographic campaigns pertaining to safety on social media are being done daily.

• Yi Kolkata has partnered with Susrut Eye Foundation & Research Centre

to set up an oxygen pad for those in emergency need of oxygen to avail

of on an interim basis. Also, Market Sanitzation Drive at New Alipore

Market where 200 shop owners were given ITC sanitization products.

• Blood donation drives are being done regularly alongside vaccination

drives for indivisuals above the age of 45+ as well as for workforce in

partnerships with numerous clinics and hospitals are being done

regularly.

• Yi Kolkata has also raised funds and arranged for free ambulance service

for those who need it.

• Chhattisgarh –

o Mr Mahendra Agrawal, Past Chairman, CII Chhattisgarh State Council

and Director, Mahendra Sponge & Power Ltd, donated 2 Oxygen

Concentrators for COVID-19 patients in the district of Raipur. The

concentrators were handed over to Dr S Bharathi Dasan (IAS),

Collector & District Magistrate, Raipur and Dr Meera Baghel, CMHO,

Raipur.

• Odisha –

o With the country battling this unprecedented pandemic, Yi

Bhubaneswar Chapter is on the ground zero to help the Society by

creating lot of awareness Campaigns :- Sanitization, Mask

distribution , Vaccination Drives, Plasma Donation Drives, Food

Supply to the Covid Patients and their attendants, Oxygen Supply to

the needy people. Some awareness campaign files attached for your

o Yi Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Commissionerate of Police,

Bhubaneswar - Cuttack and BKRT team has started the Plasma

Donation Drive and Oxygen Supply for needy people who are awaiting

hospitalization.

o Yi Bhubaneswar Chapter is the 1st chapter in the country who has

successfully vaccinated it’s all Yi members and their family members

(Count approx to 200) on 4 May 2021 in collaboration with

Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation. And also planning to

vaccinate all Yi members office employees and their family members

(age group: 19 - 44 years).

o Yi Bhubaneswar Chapter collate all essential contacts of services and

vendors from the Twin city Bhubaneswar and Cuttack in one single
