together as one family, we must
commit to keeping our Diocese
moving forward in discipleship. The
Diocese continues to identify and
apply new strategies for engagement and formation,
such as through our many new youth programs engaging
more than 1,000 young people in rallies and retreats in
every deanery, our first Men’s Retreat with 135
participants and a waiting list, growth of our annual
Women’s Retreat and ongoing parish assistance for
existing programs like vocations, Catholic formation
and parish resources. Visit bishopsappealvt.org for more
information about Your Gift at Work. !

June 17th 2018!
Note of Gratude in Advance of our 12!month financial review.!
Dear parishioners, almost a year ago it was the deliberaon of the finance council, and a few other parishioners at
my request, whether or not to commence a contracted Increased Offertory Program. We decided it would be worth
contracng a service to do mailings for this purpose mailings, and I began to write up my messages explaining why I
thought this appeal for increased financial help was appropriate to make to the parish here and now. We are cur-
rently in June and reviewing our last twelve fiscal months so we can start a new parish budget in July. Your in-
creased donaons this year have indeed kept the parish finances afloat. I express my gratude to all of you who
made some increase in your parish offertory gi-s, or who simply li-ed up your prayers as you connued the same
commitment of offertory giving that you had been able to do up unl this year. The mailing program ran from Octo-
ber to December, and through the months of January up unl now we have steadily accumulated the total dona-
ons needed to match our budget goal; we are a parish that relies on an average of about $2,000 a week for both
first and second collecons.!
The big planned expense for the year was to re!pave the entrance of St. Paul’s Cemetery driveway (something just
accomplished for the $9000 expense, as budgeted). Li:le did we know that we would be buying a new furnace sys-
tem for St. Theresa’s Church the same year! Well, we have paid the expenses, and we are sll moving forward, not
broke. (Thanks again to the Diocesan Parish Need fund which granted an exemplary $5000 for our unexpected ex-
penses.)!
I want! one more me ! to put out the offertory Commitment Cards that were used last fall, and ask those who had
not had the chance or the availability to fill them out to consider doing so this summer.!
Did you parcipate in the 2017 “Offertory Drive: Faith and Hope: United in Christ”? Would you consider making a
pledge, or an addional gi-, or a renewal of your normal ongoing commitment?!
Thank you for all your support. May Jesus and Mary bless you,
Fr. Tim
