PASTORAL REFLECTIONS

It's Fathers Day! I pray all of you men have a blessed Fathers Day. As men you are called to be the leaders of your families, both spiritual and temporal. I am called to be a spiritual father to all of you. God gives us as men the gift to be fathers and to lead and guide our families. May we give good example and continually strive to imitate the goodness of God. Today our church celebrates the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, the very Real Presence of Jesus, which we adore and receive to be our spiritual food and drink for our souls. There is no more precious gift on earth than the Eucharist. We are called as well to live what we celebrate here, to be broken and poured out for each other in this life. To be Christ's body and blood in the world is no greater vocation and you and I by our baptism fulfill this call. My prayer for us is that we grow ever closer to Jesus daily by our celebration of this mystery of faith.

Have a blessed week.

Love, Fr. Paul

SPIRITUAL REFLECTIONS ON STEWARDSHIP “Because there is one bread, we who are many are one

body, for we all partake of the one bread.” – 1 Corinthians 10: 17

As disciples of Jesus, we are called to lead holy lives and invite others to join us. Living a stewardship lifestyle, being grateful and generous with our gifts, serves a twofold purpose. One, it helps build God’s kingdom here on earth. Two, it is a road map to Heaven. Let’s help each other get there!

2018 MASS INTENTION BOOK On a fixed date each year, we “open” the Intention Book for Masses which will be said here in St. Mary Church during the next year. On Thursday, June 22nd, we will formally begin taking mass intentions for 2018. We recommend that parishioners write their request and mail them along with the $10.00 stipend to the attention of Grace Ditzel by the 22nd. This would forestall a “run” on the rectory. These requests will be honored by when they are received in the mail. Masses booked in person after the 22nd will be honored according to availability of dates. No phone requests will be taken. Please Note: In fairness to everyone we are limiting the amount of Mass requests for 2018 to a maximum of eight (8) masses per family and not all requests can be for Sunday Masses.
