FFOURTH SUNDAY IN ADVENT – December 23, 2018

Saint John the Evangelist

Saint John the Evangelist is the patron of

editors, authors, art dealers, tanners, and

theologians. He was known as the beloved

disciple to Jesus and was the only one of the

twelve to not forsake Jesus in the hour of His

Passion. Saint John the Evangelist has many

stories attributed to himself including emerging

unharmed from a pot of boiling oil and stones

thrown by the followers of Artemis towards St.

John the Evangelist turned around and hit the

throwers instead. He is also credited with

writing the fourth Gospel.

St. John the Evangelist's feast day is

December 27th .

Saint Michael, the Archangel, Please guide and protect our Police Officers, Firefighters, Emergency Personnel and First Responders

Prayer for our Troops Almighty God and Father, hold our servicemen and women in

your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for

us in our time and need. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

Fourth Sunday in Advent Mindful of our task to prepare our world for his

full and final coming, let us pray: Father, we are

struck with wonder at the trust you have put in

us. The work which your Son began by his

coming here on earth is now put into our hands

to complete. He longs to come again, but his

time is not yet ripe; we must bring him forth to a

world that is pleasing to him. Until that time,

known only to you, when the heavens will open

and we will see him once more, we raise our eyes

to you and ask for your blessing while we set our

hands to the task you have given us. All glory

be to you, Father, and to your Son, and to the

Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Prince of Peace, calls us to heal the wounds and sin of division that hurt the Body of Christ, The Family of God. Christ calls us to be a People of

Love, Joy, Hope, Peace, and Love. Let us witness to our Faith by our deeds of kindness

and love. May God Bless you and your loved ones, and May the Lord grant You Health, Happiness,

Peace, Joy, and Love.
