Prayer Requests Privileged to Serve Jim Russell - is doing better. He had tests

Wednesday and Thursday in Amarillo.

Sam Watson - recovering from a fall.

Lorene Wells - recovering from back surgery.

Gayle Ferguson – home and improving. He would

enjoy phone calls at (913) 662-7456.

Barry Sikes - recovering from having a skin cancer

removed.

Joe Chandler – scheduled for foot surgery in Lubbock

on Wednesday, September 6.

Javin Chandler – scheduled for surgery in Dallas on

his cervical spine on Monday, September 18.

Susan Smith - cancer, will be having three rounds of

chemo, followed probably in late November or early

December with surgery, and that will be followed with

three more rounds of chemo.

Paul Smith - recovering from a broken leg.

David Heflin - having some significant complications

with his medications.

Juanita Barbee - home from rehab and doing some

better.

Cathy George - Robin Pebsworth’s mom, received

good news! Her disorder (MDS) has not moved into

Leukemia. She had chemo this last week and is

doing okay.

Homer Hernandez - having surgery on his wrist. He

broke it several weeks ago. Now it will require re-

breaking and pinning and possible skin grafting.

End of Summer Cookout & Worship

This Sunday, August

27, we will meet at

the building instead

of Willow Bend at

5:00 p.m. followed by a cookout.

Meat, buns, condiments & drinks will

be provided. Please bring sides,

desserts will be provided.

Heartland CCC Devo

Sunday, September 3,

at 2:30 p.m. is our next

opportunity to lead

worship at Heartland. Participants

are needed for fellowship, singing and

encouraging the residents. Please

make plans to come. Your presence

will be a blessing.

Labor Day

The church office will be

closed on Monday,

September 4 for the

Labor Day Holiday.

Ladies Bible Class

Ladies Bible class will

resume on Tuesday

September 5. The class

meets each Tuesday

from 9:30-10:30 a.m. All ladies are

invited to join us.

Mission to Ethiopia

Jim Chandler will be

leaving this Friday,

August 25, for a three-

w e e k m i s s i o n t o

Gambela, Ethiopia. He will be teaching

seven hours per day in the preacher-

training school, covering the books of

Jeremiah and the Minor Prophets.

Please keep Jim in your prayers for his

well-being and protection while in a

foreign and troubled area. Please also

pray that his work will bear much fruit in

the kingdom. God bless you, Jim, in your

efforts to serve the Lord by teaching His

Word!
