able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”. God Bless, Larry Freitag, Interim Pastor “HOW CAN WE RECIEIVE WHAT WE ASK FOR IN PRAYER” Last month we shared with you the importance of praying in Jesus name. Now let us look at how we can see our prayers answered. Jesus said in John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask what- ever you wish, and it shall be done for you.” It is only as we choose to abide in Him and we allow His Word to abide in us, that we are going to see our prayers answered. We are told in this verse that there are conditions that we must meet if we are going to see our prayer’s an- swered. When Jesus said that we are to abide in Him and His Word in us, He was not offer- ing us an option but rather a mandate as to what we must do in order to see answer’s to our prayers. The word Abide or Remain means to STAY. It speaks of our relationship with Christ as being stable, a life that is en- twined with Christ. Paul ex- plained abiding in Christ in his life when he said “For me to live is Christ”. It is when we allow our lives to evolve around Him and not SELF. When Jesus asked that His Word would Abide in us, He was speaking of the entire Word of God, not just what we want to embrace. For Gods’ Word to Abide in us and to be assimilated in our lives, we must be men and women of the Word, to spend time each day reading and meditating on His Word. When we abide in His Word, it will become a lamp to our feet and a light to our path guiding us in our daily walk with Him. The balance of Abiding in Christ and His Word Abiding in us, needs to be the norm in the life of a Believer. When we purpose to follow this God given mandate regard- ing prayer, we will find our- selves asking Him to do that which is according to His will for our lives. The greatest thing we can ask of God, is for the fullness of the Holy Spirit to grace our lives each day. We are told in Luke 11:13, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Let me encourage you in this area of spiritual growth in your life, and may Ephesians 3:20 be your ex- perience, “Now to Him who is F IRST ASSEMBLY H EARTBEAT FROM THE PASTORS DESK

“HOW CAN WE RECIEIVE WHAT WE ASK FOR IN PRAYER”

Last month we shared with you the importance of praying in Jesus name. Now let us look at how we can see our prayers answered.

Jesus said in John 15:7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask what-ever you wish, and it shall be done for you.”

It is only as we choose to abide in Him and we allow His Word to abide in us, that we are going to see our prayers answered. We are told in this verse that there are conditions that we must meet if we are going to see our prayer’s an-swered. When Jesus said that we are to abide in Him and His Word in us, He was not offer-ing us an option but rather a mandate as to what we must do in order to see answer’s to our prayers.

The word Abide or Remain means to STAY. It speaks of our relationship with Christ as being stable, a life that is en-twined with Christ. Paul ex-plained abiding in Christ in his life when he said “For me to live is Christ”. It is when we allow our lives to evolve around Him and not SELF.

When Jesus asked that His

Word would Abide in us, He was speaking of the entire Word of God, not just what we want to embrace.

When we purpose to follow this God given mandate regard-ing prayer, we will find our-selves asking Him to do that which is according to His will for our lives.

The greatest thing we can ask of God, is for the fullness of the Holy Spirit to grace our lives each day. We are told in Luke 11:13, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Let me encourage you in this area of spiritual growth in your life, and may Ephesians 3:20 be your ex-perience, “Now to Him who is
