Christ United Methodist Church Child Care AWARDED $47,500 GRANT To Open New Infant Room

Lafayette, Ind. – Today, Christ United Methodist Child Care welcomed a $47,500 Capacity Building Grant from Early Learning Indiana to create new early learning opportunities for area families.

Specifically, the grant will be used to open up a new infant room. Funding will be used to improve facilities, to purchase classroom and instructional materials, to support professional development of staff and to expand the center’s family engagement efforts.

“Quality infant care is very hard to find in Lafayette due to the limited number of spots we can provide," says Lauren McCool, Child Care Director. "By opening up another infant room we will be able to help serve many more families in our community. We are so excited to be given this grant to not only help our kids but to also help our staff obtain schooling they otherwise couldn't receive."

The grants, which are made possible through the Lilly Endowment’s support of Early Learning Indiana, are designed to create more opportunities for early education at high-quality programs. Since 2015, Early Learning Indiana has made 17 different capacity-building grants, totaling more than $888,000 and has created more than 900 new high-quality seats across the state.

About Early Learning Indiana Early Learning Indiana is the state’s oldest and largest early childhood education nonprofit, founded in 1899 as Day Nursery. Today, Early Learning Indiana operates 10 high-quality Day Early Learning centers in Central Indiana, educating more than 1,400 children each year. Through regional (Child Care Answers) and statewide (Partnerships for Early Learners) programs, the organization helps families find quality care, works with teachers and providers to improve program quality and advocates for greater access to early educational opportunities for Hoosier families. More information is available at EarlyLearningIndiana.org.

PEACE BE WITH YOU! Ever since the resurrection, this has been My watchword to those who yearn for Me. As you sit quietly, let My Peace settle over you and enfold you in My loving presence. To provide this radiant Peace for you, I died a criminal’s death. Receive My Peace abundantly and thankfully. It is a rare treasure,

dazzling in delicate beauty yet strong enough to withstand all onslaughts. Wear My Peace with regal dignity. It will keep your heart and mind close to Mine.
