ADVENT GIVING TREE

Dear Parishioners,

Once again at the urging of the Parish Council we are

organizing Christmas help for the children and families who are

most needy in our Parish as well as for the homeless of New

Haven. There is a tree in the sanctuary with stars on it asking for

various items for the poor. If anyone is interested in making the

Christmas season a bit more joyful for these people, I ask you to

take a star and buy the things it asks for and return them

unwrapped with the star on top and bring them either Saturday,

December 16th

or Sunday, December 17th

. You may also offer

gift cards. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for

participating in this fine program.

Po raz kolejny z inicjatywy Rady Parafialnej

organizujemy pomoc na święta Bożego Narodzenia dla

dzieci i rodzin najbardziej potrzebujących z naszej Parafii,

oraz osób z przytułka w New Haven. Z przodu kościoła

wystawiona jest choinka na której zawieszone są gwiazdki

z nazwą rzeczy potrzebnych ubogim. Jeśli ktokolwiek

chciałby wspomóc potrzebujących i sprawić, że ten

szczególny czas świąt Bożego Narodzenia będzie również

dla nich choć odrobinę radośniejszy, bardzo proszę o

zabranie gwiazdki, zakupienie rzeczy na niej zapisanej i

przyniesienie prezentu z gwiazdką w sobotę lub niedzielę.

16 lub 17 grudnia. Bardzo prosimy nie pakować

zakupionych rzeczy. Można również ofiarować karty

podarunkowe. Już teraz z całego serca dziękuję za

wsparcie tej szlachetnej akcji.

UROCZYSTOŚĆ CHRYSTUSA KRÓLA 26 LISTOPAD 2017

NIEMIŁOSIERNY

Odejdźcie ode Mnie, przeklęci. Pozwoliłem sobie w dzisiejszą

uroczystość Chrystusa Króla przytoczyć akurat to zdanie z

Ewangelii dlatego, że czasami nam się wydaje, że słowa Jezusa są

pełne łagodności, miłosierdzia, dobroci i przez to są miękkie, dla

wszystkich dostępne, a tymczasem Jezus potrafił wypowiadać

słowa twarde i ostre. Ale trzeba się zastanowić, do kogo

wypowiada takie słowa. Czy do tych, którzy ważą swoje życie na

tej dziwnej wadze grzechu, to znaczy na takiej wadze, która

mówi, czy już jestem w grzechu, czy jeszcze nie, czy do tych,

którzy próbują swoje relacje z Bogiem oprzeć na łatwym

rozróżnieniu: zgrzeszyłem, nie zgrzeszyłem, łaska uświęcająca,

stan grzechu śmiertelnego. Nie. Jezus mówi odejdźcie do tych,

którzy nie są pełni miłości miłosiernej. I to jest wielka nauka dla

nas. Nie możemy swojej relacji z Bogiem układać na dwóch

płaszczyznach. Jestem już w grzechu czy jeszcze nie. Możesz nie

być w grzechu, możesz wypełnić całe prawo, ale równocześnie

możesz nie wypełniać uczynków miłosierdzia i wtedy Bóg powie

ci, abyś odszedł Mu sprzed oczu. Nie daj Boże! Kochajmy tych,

którzy są wokół nas, bądźmy miłosierni, bo jałmużna i dobroć

zmazują nasze grzechy!

Panie, Twoje królestwo przychodzi niepostrzeżenie, lecz mogę

doświadczyć jego obecności w napotkanym człowieku. Daj mi

serce gotowe przyjąć każdego potrzebującego brata, by w Nim

zobaczyć Ciebie i razem z Tobą królować na wieki.

POLISH SATURDAY SCHOOL

Polish Saturday School will take orders for pierogi until

December 4th – one dozen for $9 – cheese, Ruskie (potato &

FIRST RECONCILIATION

The first time a child receives the Sacrament of Reconciliation is

a beautiful moment in their spiritual life. It is a time for them to

sit with Jesus and discover the healing power of God's great love.

Please pray for our grade three students who will be celebrating

the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time in the coming

weeks.

ADVENT

Advent is the beginning of the Church's Liturgical Year. Advent

begins next Sunday, December 3rd. The focus of Advent is

twofold: First, it is a time of preparation to help us celebrate the

anniversary of Jesus' birth on Christmas. Secondly, it is a time

provided us to live in anticipation of Jesus' Second Coming.

To assist us to enter into this season of preparation and

anticipation the Little Blue Book for Advent is available at the

entrance of the Church. The little book contains prayers and

meditations for each day of the Advent Season. Please take one. It

is a useful aid in our preparation for Christmas.

PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS

Week of Awareness for Persecuted Christians from November 26

thru December 2, 2017 we are asked to pray in a special way for

our brothers and sisters around the globe who are punished for

practicing their faith.

O God of all the nations,

the One God who is and was and always will be,

in Your Providence You willed that Your Church

be united to the suffering of Your Son.

Look with mercy on Your servants

who are persecuted for their faith in You.

Grant them perseverance and courage

to be worthy imitators of Christ.

Bring Your wisdom upon leaders of nations

to work for peace among all peoples.

May Your Spirit open conversion

for those who contradict Your will,

that we may live in harmony.

Give us the grace to be united in truth and freedom,

and to always seek Your will in our lives.
