NOLA Intervention.Cutting Edge Intervention Spring 2014 Critique: Javier Gomez
This project sought out to insert a cutting edge intervention on a historical site. The design process revolves around the historical event, Battle of New Orle-ans 1815, site location, Jackson Square, and the cutting edge intervention, an interactive pavilion to re-purpose the square and re-connect the plaza with the Mississippi River.

Event.The Battle of New Orleans 1815, during the War of 1812. The war was analyzed through maps and factual sketches depicting the events of the battle.

Diagram.The Diagrams of the Battle of New Or-leans are super imposed on the site to reveal emergent geometry.

Post-Apocalyptic LibraryBooks are the heart of Civilization. Spring 2015 Critique: Andrew Vernooy Clifton Ellis
Travelers roam the land in search of knowledge preserved only in the text of physical books. The libraries that store the heart of civilization are spread out across the land. They engage the traveler through approach, material, light, and machine. Located in Cap Rock Canyon this particular library resides in the Notch on a canyon wall.
Enlightenment.Light illuminates the books which leads the traveler to discovery.
The Decent.The machine, cold from its metal, allows the traveler to activate the library.
The Notch.A notch reveals itself but darkness eludes
The Wall.The mass of the shear wall gains pres-ence in the Landscape.
Post-Apocalyptic Library.
Narrative.The library reveals itself with subtle intention from the rugged terrain of the South Prong within Cap Rock Canyon.

Site.The wall hides the library within its shear mass. However, the elegant artic-ulation of the notch gives itself weight and intelligent presence.

Machine.The pinion and rack machine presents itself to the traveler with its drastic change in materiality, metal. This raw form of mechanics enables entry into the library.

Our Proposal for the redesign of the Piazza Bra Molinari seeks to activate a processional series of active and passive zones of activity within the site derived from site specific context moments and engaging city scale hierarchies that reference the ancient Roman city grid and Major axis.

Diagram.The derivation that occurs as a deriva-tion of site conditions and diagram-ming, allows for a segmentation of zones within the site. Each strip dy-namically engages the spectator with responsive lighting that activates in the presence of the spectator.

Community College.A framed view of the Lubbock lake. Fall 2012 Critique: Mary Crites
This Community College is located in Lubbock, TX. It over looks the Canyon Lake, one of the few bodies of water, and terrain intensive sites in Lubbock. The design integrates into the terrain allowing for a seamless transition to the college. Within the college campus, the canyon view becomes the back drop to for academic learning.
