To whom it may concern,
While flipping through the channels on one boring Saturday morning I
found the Gravity Games. After seeing it just once I decided that I wanted to be a
professional action sports athlete. Since then a knee surgery, sprained ankles
and a broken collarbone have put the goal of being the next Bob Burnquist out of
reach. However while pursuing that goal I fell in love with the industry, lifestyle
and environment that make these events possible. I have examined, studied and
looked toward the companies who give athletes a stage to perform and entertain.
I want to be a part of producing these inspiring and entertaining events.
To do so I have spent the last six years preparing myself to be the best person
possible for the job. Within the last year I have graduated with degree in Sports
Administration from Ball State with a minor in marketing. After finished up
classes I had a great internship working with the Dew Tour in their central head-
quarters in Chicago.
My responsibilities at Alli Sports, as local marketing coordinator included
hiring and leading a street team in Chicago. I prepared and led events promoting
the Nike 6.0 BMX Dew Tour The internship concluded by serving the needs of the
VIP guest, known as the Action Zone during the event. Since leaving the Dew
Tour in the summer I moved to Vail Colorado. While working for Vail mountain I
was called for help with the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge Colorado. I was
part of that team promoting the Breck Dew Tour in Vail by putting up flyers, giving
away swag at events and creating general awareness. I was also called upon a
second time to help run the Gatorade free Flow in Vail. I have knowledge, a little
experience and an abundance of drive and passion. I would like to adapt these
skills to your team so I can bring the same enjoyment I experienced to the rest of
the world.
Thank you,
Chris Strbjak

NBC Healthy Lifestyle Expo was a very exciting 2 day promotional event. My street team part-nered with a local bike team who did shows
each day. This gained the attention of local re-porters and Mario Lopez
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfEKQG3885c .
Watching the 2010 World Cup on television is pretty exciting, but I partnered with our con-
tacts at Soldier Field to join their viewing party. We joined Chicagoans in watching the finals
and inviting them to join us for the Dew Tour in the same place a few weeks later.
The street team visited the Sara Lee Head-quarters to promote the Dew Tour. We worked
in conjunction with Ball Park to have many great giveaways . It provided a way to talk to our sponsor’s employees about the event that
was coming up that weekend.
Circus Skatepark Dew Day was a great event where my street team and I partnered up with Verizon’s street team. We set up shop inside the skatepark. A BMX competition was the
perfect place to promote our BMX event and promote our brands.
Go skateboarding day 2010 provided me with the perfect opportunity to engage a specific market. I set up an event at a local Chicago skatepark and held a contest, followed by a
cross city skate complete with about 200 skateboarders.
B96 Bash was a great event hosted by one of our sponsors With an attendance composed of 28,000 people in our target market it was a
exciting event complete with our own BMX team putting on tricks. My street team is on
the right.
We attended the edible audio picnic which was a major letdown but proceeded to find the skateboarders massing grant park waiting for everyone to skate across town. While at grant park skatepark we hosted
One of my favorite partnerships was with the Chicago Fire. They were always so helpful and accommodating. I had multiple events
here including Dew Tour Day where we gave away a BMX bike and let one of our fans do
coin toss. Always a great event with the Fire.
Scheduling six employees for the 10 days of
Taste of Chicago was a challenge but at the end
we could say we were true promoters. We were
able to advertise to the 6.5 million people there.
We served 6 pallets of cans of Mt. Dew.

To Whom It May Concern:
Please accept this letter of recommendation for Chris Strbjak. I had the pleasure of supervising Chris for the Dew Tour Nike 6.0 BMX Openin Chicago, IL. He had a positive and lasting impact throughout his time with the event. Chris assisted as the Local Marketing Co-ordinator and as such disseminated information and bolstered awareness for the event. His knowledge of the event was imperative to his ability to handle marketing the event to groups and help create partnerships with local businesses. The expectations we have set for our employees are very high and he rose to meet any and all challenges. Chris’s enthusiasm to excel in his day to day responsibilities was only matched by his desire to achieve his full potential as an employee by taking a project and handling it on his own with no need
for repeat instruction.
Chris is a passionate, proactive, and energetic individual who commits himself totally to the task at hand. Further, his aptitude to absorb
direction from me and the rest of the staff lead him to be easily molded into an outstanding employee.
With these qualities in mind, I strongly recommend Chris. If you have further questions please feel free to contact me.
Considerately,
Leigh

To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Jeff Hughes and I am writing to recommend Chris Strbjak for a position with your organization. I am the Youth Pas-tor/Program Director at Oneighty Youth Ministries in Muncie, IN where Chris volunteered much of his time through college to make a difference in the lives of our high school students. Each week I saw him actively engaging with our students in a variety of events in-
cluded hosting upfront competitions, coordinating large games of dodgeball, soccer, basketball, to the supervision of our Skatepark.
I can attest to his care for others, leadership skills and desire to make a difference through positive interactions with those around him. Chris has been a true asset to our program while he attended school in Muncie, and is very capable of leading large groups (100+) but also possesses the skills needed for one-on-one interactions. I highly recommend that you seize this opportunity to put his
gifts to work within your organization!
Sincerely,
Jeff Hughes
