Dear Little Traveler,For over 50 years, The Little Traveler has been my “go to” place for shopping,

and I’ve enjoyed reading other shoppers’ stories of Little Traveler memories. Earlythis summer I created a memory of my own. My 12-year-old granddaughter wasspending the weekend with me! We were shopping on Third Street, and since it wasgetting close to lunch, I asked if she was hungry. Kelly pulled out her phone andread that the Traveler served afternoon tea at 2pm. She was so excited, saying shehad always wanted to have afternoon tea (always being a very long time for a 12-year-old). I noticed that a 24-hour reservation was necessary, but I decide to call. The man who answered said if we promised to be there at 2:00, he could accom-modate us! What a success. Kelly felt she was dining in a French bistro. The three-course sampler was delightful, and the wait staff made her feel very special. The best part happened yesterday. Kelly called and asked if she could celebrate her13th birthday with me in November so that we could attend another LittleTraveler Afternoon Tea. Sincerely, Rosemary Hood, St. Charles, IL

Rosemary will receive a $50 gift certificate as a token of our thanks for this lovely letter.Send your letters to Almanack Editor, 404 S. Third St., Geneva, IL 60134.
