    College theater is in the process of making arrangements for its forth-coming Mardi Gras. For you fresh-men who haven't had the p rivilege and pleasure of attending one of these annual fu nctions, it is a night of vaudeville sponsored by College theafer and produced by the students, acting th rough organizations of which they are members. Each or-ganization in school is asked to pro-duce a short skit lasting approxi-mately 10 minutes.

    As yet the different organizations have not been notified, but during the first week after the Christmas recess e~ch president of a. school or-ganization will find a Jetter in the school office giving details .. of the forthcoming Mardi Gras. It will be heJd early in the second semester.

    133 students in (i\'C of Dr. Harold M. Toto's history classes showed that Pres ident Harry S. Truman was the local choice for the honor of being Time's .. Man of the Year" by a vote of two to one.

    The students a. re now wai ting for the final issue of Time magazine for this year in order to compare their choice with that or Time.

    President Truman received a total of 77 votes while Sec.retary Marshall , last year's winner, was the runner-up with 26 ,otes. Uncle )OC"Stalin's popularity has remained stationary throughout the yea r as he polled five votes this year as well as last yea r.

    Eleanor Roosevelt received four nominations for the honor, and Paul Hoffman, ERP administrator, receiv-ed th ree.

    Tom Dewey, Count Bernadotte and Lou Boudreau each received two votes and Edward Stett inius, J. Rob-ert Oppenheimer, Mahatma Gandhi, Johnny Conzelman, V. M. Molotov, Dwight 0 . Eisenhower, Henry Wal-lace, Princess Elizabeth, Edward Benes, Arthur Vandenberg, Trygve Lie and Madame Chiang Kai Chek were 1;ut in the honorable mention class since each one received a single vote.

    Just to prove that popularity is a fickle thing, last year's poll saw only two \.'Otes cast for Harry Truman at CSTC.

    President Hansen Called By Draft Board-Only Wants to Inform Students

    Hans Muenzer is known to mil-lions through his radio broadcasts with his Old Heidelberg Concert En-semble. Mr. Muenzer stud ied at the Royal Conservatory in Leipzig and became Concertmaster of the Leipzig Philharmonic at the age of 19. He ca.me to this country and was fea-tured as a soloist with the Chicago Symphbny. He has toured ext~siv~-ly as a solo recitalist and with. h is Muenzer Trio, and was, for a time, featured with the WGN Concert Or-chestra.
