2. Fold the left side to meet the diagonal crease as shown.

3. Make a mountain fold along A to B.

4. Fold CB upper layer to meet A.

5. Flip paper over.

6. Fold the right side to meet the vertical crease.

7. Fold the bottom tip upwards.

8. Repeat the previous steps, 7 more times to complete your 8 pointed star modular units.

Assembling the 8-pointed modular star 9. Open the right side of your first unit and place the second unit into the first; align it with the right diagonal crease of the first unit.

10. Close the first unit by tucking in the right tip between the second unit.

18. Tuck in the 8th unit into the 1st.
