Christmas holiday is the most expected event of the year by both children and grownups..

On Christmas Eve, when night is falling,

children start singing Christmas carols.

They receive apples, nuts or money…

Traditional meals abound:

homemade sausages, cabbage rolls with pork,

sweet bread…

In the night time, Santa Claus comes down the chimney.

He leaves presents under the Christmas tree

for all family members.

Children adorn the Christmas tree,

which symbolizes the infinite life

and light.

The “star” is evoked by the children who go singing

carols through religious lyrics.

Walking the “bear” symbolizes the fertilization of the earth in the

New Year.

Walking the “goat” isan old dance dedicated

to rebirth of divinity.

The plough is an agrarian carol,

having as subject the work done to get bread.
