    ! FOUR volunteers to light chandeliers. THESE WILL ALSO LIGHT MENORAH AND OILLAMP LATER IN THE SERVICE - AT THE INCENSE HYMN

    Greeters notes:

    Set Up

    ! Find 10:00 PM Concert Program on the TOP SHELF in Welcome Closet and Christmas EveMusic Booklets on Welcome Table (same booklets as were used at 6:30 Service).

    ! Place "recycling" boxes with "Please return" signs on either side of entrance doors.

    ! As people walk in, greet them, hand out Christmas Eve Music Booklet and 10:00 PMConcert Program, and ask them to be seated.

    ! Recruit THREE helpers for Collection.

    During the liturgy! ONLY AS NEEDED: Set any folding chairs on the wood floor in straight rows facing the

    Presiders chair. Front legs of the first row should touch the seam between the concrete andwood floors. Leave a 6-foot wide center aisle, and pay attention to sightlines and access.Rows should be 2 feet apart.

    ! Help to stack folding chairs onto dollies and roll them into closets (cue is at the start of theTripudium announcement).

    After the liturgy! Collect Christmas Eve Music Booklets in "recycling" boxes by doors and leave on welcome

    table. Collect 10:00 Concert Programs and put in paper recycling boxes in welcome closet.

    Pre-liturgy/concert prep:Deacons set up according to the lists at the front of this script

    Ushers seat people in the seating area for the concert

    Ushers / Recruits lower and light ALL candelabrasand then raise them.

    Deacon C carries Candle to lectern, adds incense to the thurible, then stands to

    the right (street side) of the lectern.

    Deacon C checks to see where Readers are seated.

    Deacon B carries Gospel book to lectern, places the Book on the stand andopens it to the first reading, then stands to the left (font side) of

    lectern.

    Deacon B/Cwhen all candles are lit, brings Reader 1 to lectern

    Deacon A remains with Presider.

    known the mystery of that Light on earth, may also

    enjoy him perfectly in heaven; where with you and the

    Holy Spirit he lives and reigns, one God, in glory

    The Reading

    Deacon B Please take your seats, and listen to a reading from the

    prophet Isaiah.

    Immediately following the Reading:Cantor rings pot bells.

    Deacon C carries candle back to candle stand

    Deacon B thanks Reader and returns to seat, leaving Gospel Book on thestand.

    Presider observes TWO minutes of silence, then rings handbells.

    The Canticle

    PROCESSION ORDER:

    Deacon C carrying Candle

    Preacher carrying Book (NOTE: if a Guest Preacher is present, Deacon B

    carries the Book, to keep the procession moving at the usual pace)

    Umbrella shadowing Preacher/Book

    Vested partymixed among other umbrellas.

    The procession moves briskly through the congregation.

    Vested partymembers smile, make eye contact, touch people while singing and

    moving, without making conversation.

    Cantor leads the singing from the platform, always facing the Book.

    As the procession reaches the book stand,

    Preacher places the Book on the stand.

    Deacon C rings the tower bell until the vested party have returned to their seats.

    Deacon B assists Umbrella carriers to cross platform and collapse / store

    umbrellas, then remains standing for announcements as Alleluiasend.

    to everyone the bread and wine that are Christs body

    and blood, without exception. After communion, we

    take up a collection of money for the work of the

    church, because all we give, we give in thanks for all

    that God has given us.
