CHRISTMAS IN POLAND

In Poland we start our Christmas supper when first star lights up on the sky. We divide the wafer with our family. After this we sit down at the table and start eating.

In Poland Santa Claus come to children after supper (in 24th December). At midnight we go to midnight mass.

In 25th December come our family, cousins, grandparents. We eat a festive Christmas dinner with family.

FOODOn our Christmas on table are 12 dishes. 1. Beetroot soup with dumplings (mushrooms and cabbage)2. Carp in aspic 3. Herring in cream with onion 4. Fried carp 5. Compote of dried fruit (plums, apples, pears, cinnamon and cloves)6. Kutia (wheat, honey and poppy seed) 7. Dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms 8. Fried cabbage 9. Poppy seed cake 10. Noodles with poppy 11. Mushroom soup 12. Fish (like Greek)

Our celebrating is lasts until 24th December (Christmas) to 31th
