Page 2: Christmas Bizarre 2013

Welcome to Christmas Bizarre 2013 – the seasonal art and craft fair with a twist!each year we work with a range of talented designer-makers, artists and creatives to bring you a festive adventure with gifts for all.

this year is no different We have a fabulous range of ceramics, jewellery, prints, textiles and sculpted paper animals, delicious home-made savoury scones from Baked By the Sea in the café to go with steaming bowls of soup, a wonderful fairy tale environment created by FDa illustration students at Sussex coast college and an especially commissioned animation to view in the theatre.

Most importantly this year we are inviting everyone to give something back at christmas via our Super Secret Santa fundraising show in aid of local charity Surviving Christmas which supports those in need at christmas.

Over the last five years we have worked with a host of amazing artists and we have been delighted by their generosity in donating artworks to help us all support this excellent cause. Our Super Secret Santa show features works by established painters, illustrators, print makers, photographers, graphic novelists and more! a minimum donation of just £25 will enable visitors to enter a sweepstake and win one of these original artworks.

So… buy a gift for someone you love and offer a helping hand to a stranger in need this Christmas!

inspiration and ideas come from many places, nature, man-made

objects, wind worn surfaces, but mostly

they come from the sheer joy that is the creative act.

We are a small local charity based in Hastings providing support and assistance to vulnerable residents in the Hastings and Rother area.

now in our 29th year, we provide food hampers for the elderly and housebound, hampers or vouchers for families who are struggling to provide for christmas and we host a three-day event providing washing facilities, hairdressing, cooked meals and social contact to those homeless and or lonely.

in 2012 we helped around 4500 people: 1400 families, 450 individuals during the 3 day event and over 550 hampers were distributed. Surviving christmas needs to raise approximately £50,000 a year to keep going.

We enable the community to help those less fortunate through volunteering, highlight and communicate the needs of the wider community and provide a social, safe place for vulnerable people to come together over the christmas period.

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this event and wish everyone a happy and peaceful christmas.
