Christian Meditation
As taught by Father John Main O.S.B. Thursday, December 12th at 7pm
Come and experience the light and the love and the peace of Christ that shines within our hearts. Come and join us in Church at 7pm on Thursday, Decem-ber 12th to participate in the ancient tradition and practice of silent Christian meditation which brings us to that place of inner silence where “we are simp-ly being with God who is in us in the Holy Spirit whom Jesus has given us” (John Main). Let us deepen our spiritual life by joining together to medi-tate during the beautiful Advent season of hope, peace, joy and love that leads us to a humble stable at Bethlehem and the wonder and joy of Christmas. The format for our meetings is very simple and will consist of gathering together, followed by a poem, a reading and a prayer. We will listen to a recording of John Main for about 10 minutes then a couple of minutes of gentle music, before meditating together for 20 minutes. We will conclude with some more gentle music and candlelight prayers. This invitation is extended with much love to all who have come to previous meditations and also to anyone who has never meditated before. All are welcome – no experience required.
Communion to the Sick If you or someone close to you is unable to attend church due to age, illness or injury, please call Loretta in the Pastoral Care office at 408-264-5114 or email, [email protected]. Sam Imelli was a member of the St. Christopher Community for 40 years. As a father, educator, coach and parishioner, he was an integral part of the many communities he served. Sam started the Christmas tree lot and actively supported it for many years. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 74, and his smile and wit are missed by all who knew him. Effective 2018, HNS named the Christmas tree lot in Sam's memory. Thank you Sam for your support of St. Christopher Parish and School.
