Our kids left for Messiah College in August. After a few weeks of adjustment, they settled in and are loving it. They are taking general courses with some first year business and accounting. Still deciding which major to pursue. Their first love is sports journalism, and they have found a great place to showcase their talents on www.bleacherreport.com. Check out their profiles: Bryn and Cody.

We were not quite ready for an empty nest, so when we heard that Cody and Bryn’s best friend’s brother needed a place to stay we decided he could live with us. Paul Faucette joined our family in September and has been a joy to get to know. Paul is a senior at Pennridge High School and enjoys playing every sport he can. When he is not sinking a basket or smashing a volleyball, he sings with the Chamber Choir at school. In his spare time, he works at Landis Supermarket in Perkasie.

Craig picked up a part time position with Building Services at our church, Calvary Church of Souderton. He works occasional weekends, setting up, tearing down and cleaning up before and after events. It’s been a good way for us to get some extra income.

Craig’s favorite pastime this year has been converting all of his albums to mp3s, using a turntable and software that I got him for his birthday. He is still rocking out – his favorite current music is Metallica’s newest album.

It was a year of transitions for me…saying goodbye to Cody and Bryn, hello to Paul, moving our offices from Pipersville to Doylestown to Lansdale.

I am still fascinated with the latest technology and enjoy playing with my new MP3 player, digital camera and Treo cell phone.

And I have learned more meaningless sports trivia than any woman alive.
