She spent the first five years of her career working in development real estate in Dallas/Ft. Worth before deciding to switch to residential real estate in 2003. She is now owner of Christie Cannon Keller Williams Frisco, the most successful Keller Williams group in Frisco for the past 4 years. After assessing her years of experience and evaluating what she has learned, Christie Cannon has recently released several tips on being a successful real estate agent. A few of those tips are listed here: 1. Know as much as possible.Knowledge & experience are key to success in real estate. Not only know all you can about your client’s homes, but spend time touring as many homes & communities as possible. Being able to help sellers “outdo” their competition requires having knowledge of the competition. Helping buyers find the perfect home means knowing about all of the available homes in the area. In addition, successful agents should have a comprehensive knowledge of the city and the community where they work, so that they can provide their client with statistics, facts, and general insider information. 2. Be fast and determined. A real estate agent needs to react not only to a client decisions as quickly as possible, but often to a rapidly shifting &changing market. Know your market, be accessible to your clients, & be prepared to act quickly to support them. 3. Build a large network. The key to being informed about homes going on and off the market in your area is to have connections. Stay in touch with former clients and ask them to refer their friends and family members should they ever need to move. Network with-in the industry, not only is this critical to know the “insider” info, there is a huge inventory of homes that sell without ever reaching the MLS. 4. Stay ahead of the trends. Make sure that you have the most advanced technology and the best systems and software for organizing and keeping track of houses going on and off the market. Keep track of research and news in the real estate industry, and try to stay one step ahead of your competition at all times.
