Toward a History of the Desire for Christian UnityPreliminary Research Papers. Proceedings of the InternationalConference at the Monastery of Bose (November 2014). With aForeword of Enzo Bianchi and a Postface of André BirmeléA comprehensive work on the Christian Call for Unity has still to be writ-ten: it requires an analysis of the doctrinal elaborations and theologicallanguages; a collection of individual and generational developments; a fo-cus on ecclesiastical and institutional patterns, and an historical connectionbetween ecumenism, politics and diplomacy.A number of scholars attempt to fill this gap: historians, theologians andmembers of several Christian denominations present their researches focu-sed on the search for Christian unity and its history. The aim is to create ascientific network and to launch an international research program on thehistory of ecumenism in the 19th and 20th Century. This book presents thefirst results.vol. 14, 2015, 284 pp., 39,90 €, pb., ISBN-CH 978-3-643-90696-0

Marinella Perroni; Alberto Melloni; Serena Noceti (Edd.)«Tantum aurora est»Donne e Concilio Vaticano IIThis study is dedicated to the analysis of the participation of the womenauditors in the Council assembly and of some figures of great ecclesiasticalimportance who acted as transmission channels for petitions emergingfrom the Council. In addition, in-depth questions are analyzed: the issueswithin the counciliar debates and the final documents can be regardedas the first attempts to reflect on themes that are important to the livesof women. On the basis of this double perspective Vatican II appears tohave served as a real dividing line for all that which concerns the Church’srecognition of the presence and role of women.Bd. 12, 2012, 392 S., 34,90 €, br., ISBN-CH978-3-643-90245-0

Alberto Melloni; Riccardo Saccenti (Eds.)In the Image of GodFoundations and Objections within the Discourse on Human Di-gnity. Proceedings of the Colloquium Bologna and Rossena (July2009) – in Honour of Pier Cesare Bori on his 70th BirthdayIn the last years, starting from the study of the foundations of humanrights, Pier Cesare Bori has focused his research on the exegesis of Ge-nesis 1, 26-28, according to which man is created in the image of God. Inthe Christian framework the imago Dei has led to different interpretations:a charismatic and eschatological, an ontological and a functional one. Tosolve the contradictions between these different exegesis of imago Dei Borihas suggested to consider a larger context, looking not only at the Christiantradition, but also at the other monotheisms, cultures and religions. Theproceedings here presented are the result of this attempt to develop newapproaches to the study of the topic of imago Dei. Alberto Melloni (Ed.)Giuseppe DossettiStudies on an Italian Catholic ReformerGiuseppe Dossetti is a name barely known outside Italy. Some may re-member his role within the Christian Democratic Party in the early yearsof the Italian Republic. Readers familiar with the history of the Second Va-tican Council may have heard his name as one of its most important ghostwriters and theologians. However, to most, his biography remains more orless unknown. One the purposes by the John XXIII Foundation – createdby Dossetti in 1953 – was to fill this gap with papers presented to the 2006Bologna conference, for the decennial of Dossetti’s death. Among them themost important for an international readership are gathered in this volume.vol. 6, 2008, 296 pp., 34,90 €, pb., ISBN978-3-8258-1313-0

Bd. 4, 2007, 168 S., 34,90 €, br., ISBN978-3-8258-9426-9

Proceedingsof the San Miniato International Workshop, October 13 – 16 2004The international workshop held in San Miniato (October 13 – 16, 2004)was a step forward within a larger project devoted to the study of synodand synodality in the governance of Churches. The «repraesentatio con-ference» was an attempt to initiate a sort of dictionary of the keywordsimplemented (or discarded) in the history of synodical government.
