Expressing Thoughts and Emotions By Christian Armada All thoughts become lies with only momentary truths. Thought is trying to hold those truths, if only for a second. I am going to lie. She could not hear, she could not listen. Only could she move with her silent grace, and peaceful beauty, neither seeing nor feeling. She walked towards that door. Momentary truths, deep red orange. “Almost lost, we cannot live.” Tinting. Only a silhouette against the red orange sky.

Oh Sublime! Oh energy of the world. How you f ll me with emotion! But still. A twitch of the eye, an uncontrollable spark dow

n my spine. I waver. I must participate in self-indulgence just this once, and I shall prom

ise never to waver a

gain.Allow me to become lost, for only a short while, and I will return.

Dear Architect,

I have some questions regarding the structure you created recently. Was it intentional that some of the support pillars have fallen down? The structure looks awfully unstable. Also, another one of the pillars isn’t supporting anything at all. Honestly, I fear for my life when standing near it. I doubt that it will last until the end of the day. With little to no confidence,

Response

My responses to most of the prompts have similar themes. Most of my re-sponses focus on or have references to a sad, depressed, or dead girl. However, throughout the project, the themes of my responses expanded to include imprison-ment, hints at existentialism, and cries for help. My favorite prompt was Isolation vs. Solitude. The medium for this prompt was crayon and water color, and I feel like I was able to use them well to illustrate my ideas. I think that I did a good job showing that even though others were around her, she was still alone. Water color ended up being my favorite medium. I took risks in using the different materials for the different prompts. Before this project, I had never used water colors, acryllic paints, or charcoal pencils. Also, I had never really made a collage or sculpture before. So, I did the best I could with-out really knowing the proper technique, and I think that it came out pretty well. There are some visual consistencies in my works. In all of the non-photog-raphy works, there are curvy lines extending throughout the image. Also, all of the photographs have water, some with rain and some with splashes. With the exception of one, all of my responses have a more pensive and mel-low mood. A lot are like cries for help or reflections on life and living. Also, there is a lot of cynicism regarding human nature.
