Blessing of Animals at Christ the King on Sunday, October 1, at 12:30 p.m. outside the church entrance. In Honor of St. Francis’ feast day (on October 4), we invite

you to bring your pets for a special blessing from Fr. John – all species are welcome. Please bring your pet on a leash or in an enclosed carrier – and bring a poop scoop, if that should hap-pen. The Blessing will take 12-15 minutes. In case of inclement weather, the Blessing will be rescheduled for the following Sunday, October 8 at 12:30 p.m.

Morning Prayer on Mondays By popular request, we will now celebrate Morning Prayer on Monday mornings before the Word Com-munion Service. So now we will have Morning Prayer Monday thru Friday every week, except on Holy Days Obligation, or when we celebrate Mass in the evening, or on Ash Wednesday or All Soul’s Day. On these days we are not able to provide books to everyone due to the heavy turnout.

All Souls’ Day is on Thursday, Novem-ber 2nd this year. On our Church calendar, the month of November is dedicated to remembering and praying for the dead. Most cultures honor their dead, and we’ll restore that custom here by creating an altarcito, some tables with photographs of our loved ones who have died. Please label your name on the photos. You can drop them off at the office starting Oct. 30th. We will leave the altarcito up until the end of the month, and remember them in prayer during Novem-ber. Advent starts on Dec. 2nd.
