Basic Information Regarding the Sacraments

Holy Eucharist We truly believe in the Body and Blood of Christ that was broken and shed for us! We ask that you be in good standings with the Lord as you join us for every Mass for Holy Eucharist. All are Welcome to

His table!! “Jesus said to them, ‘I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life … For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood

remains in me, and I in him … so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.’”

Religious Education: “Not a Fan”

“Are you saying this on your own, or have others been telling you about Me?”

~ John 18:34.

Jesus was put to death on the cross because He claimed to be the King of the Jews. Since that was Jesus’

crime, it was inscribed in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek above His head on the cross (Jn 19:19-20).

On the feast of Christ the King, are you saying “on your own” (Jn 18:34) that Jesus is King or are you just

observing the traditions of the Church by reading, praying, and singing “King-things” out of the missalette or

songbook? If you are accepting “on your own” that Jesus

is the King, you will be rejected and persecuted as He

was. Because Jesus is not just a king but the King of

kings (see Rv 1:5), He and His followers are a treat to all

other kings and rulers, unless these acknowledge His su-

premacy. Therefore, He was crucified, and His subjects

share in His sufferings (see Phil 3:10.)

To celebrate today’s feast day without hypocrisy, to truly

accept Jesus as King, you must love Him enough to live

and die for Him by giving everything to purchase the pre-

cious pearl of His kingdom (Mt 13:44, 46). Will you cele-

brate Christ the King on your own, or will you merely

mouth what others tell you to say?

The "Cards of the Deck" is a social club that we are forming right now by taken person’s

information so we can plan a date for this group to meet. Anyone who is 50 years old or

older is welcome to join us. We play bingo, cards, games, and enjoy each others’ com-

pany. Our plan for this group is to meet with our first meeting as a business meeting fol-

lowed by bingo and then cards.

Then the second meeting we celebrate the birthdays of our members during that month and then play cards and so-

cialize. Then the third meeting we have a potluck where all the members bring a dish. After the potluck we play

cards and socialize. The fourth meeting will be a Mass and offer any prayers and then play games.

When there are five weeks in a month the Mass and prayers are scheduled for that day rather than the fourth Thurs-

day. If you are seeking companionship and want to meet new people, Please email the Parish Office if you would

like to be added to the list and be informed of all the dates and when this Ministry will start.

The Giving Tree

Share Christ’s love and bring smiles to

children and families for Christmas. We

have a number of families in our com-

munity who are unable to buy their child

a gift for Christmas. With your help, we

can make sure that each child receives

at least one gift.

Beginning Monday, December 3rd, I will

email a list of some children in Laurel, Montana that are in need of Christ-

mas. Please consider, adopting a child or children by emailing the parish

and letting us know which gender and age you would like then wrap the gift

and attached a tag with “Gender & Age” and give to Father M.J. to take to

Community Hope. Continue to pray and help another child throughout the

season of Advent up to Sunday, December 16th when all gifts will be deliv-

ered on that Monday.

We gather to understand our life and where God is calling us! Am I meant to be

a part of St. Maximilian Kolbe? Will this help me in my life, how can I share

about my faith with others?, family? Then this group will help you answer many

of those questions! If your unhappy with the parish you are with or unsure where

God wants you in His plan, please call or email us and allow us to help you.

Year of Faith Prayer

May this Year of Faith be a year

to help me appreciate the gift of

faith, deepen my relationship

with God, and strengthen my

commitment to sharing faith

with others.

May I recognize the face of

Christ in those who are

suffering, and help them

along the journey of life.

May I not grow lazy in the faith.

My I be enlightened in mind, and

heart by the word of the Lord.

May I be capable of opening the

hearts and minds of many to the

desire of God, and for true life,

life without end. Amen.

The order of the books of the Bible

Like learning the alphabet before reading, knowing the order of the books of the Bible is foundational to deep

Bible study. If you are fortunate enough to have children who have been taught the New Testament and the

Old Testament songs, you have an “easy way” to learn the arrangement. Breaking the task into manageable

“chunks” is helpful.

Let’s begin with the New Testament. You want to be able to think through the order, so here is a list you

might use.

New Testament The Historical Books (Matthew-Acts)

Paul’s Epistles (Romans-Philemon)

Hebrews

General Epistles (James-Jude)

Revelation (Remember, it is not Revelations.)

The list of Paul’s epistles can be the most difficult. Remember, all the “T’s” are together (1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1

& 2 Timothy, Titus); an acrostic for Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians and Colossians is “Gentiles Eat Pork

Chops.” Learn each section before moving on to the next. Always review from the beginning. (“Matthew,

Mark….”)

Old Testament

We again have some useful divisions

The Torah (Genesis-Deuteronomy)

The Historical Books (Joshua-Esther)

The Poetical Books (Job-Song of Solomon)

The Major Prophets (Isaiah-Daniel; note that Lamentations is an appendix to the book of Jeremiah.)

The Twelve Minor Prophets (Hosea-Malachi)

You can create an acrostic for the twelve Minor Prophets, or you might compromise and look them up in the

index if you cannot seem to conquer this challenge. If you know the order of the Old Testament books except

for the Minor Prophets, you can get by. Here is an acrostic I use:

Howard Johnson Ate Olives (Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah)

January May Need Heat (Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk)

Zoos Have Zebra Mammals (Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi).

The book most people cannot locate is Nahum. Odds are if you can locate Nahum without consulting an in-

dex, you know your Bible order!

Pastor’s Notes

We look back on this liturgical year and realize how much we have changed, I hope for the

better. As, we close this year in the church and start the next in Advent. I’m reminded

about the times we have with each other and the time spent with Christ. Allow our hearts

and souls be mingled together with His so we can continue to grow closer to God.

We recall the good and the bad times but we ponder on the time we used to achieve

Christ’s plan this past year. We think have we really taken the time to pray the Rosary

more or read the Bible? Have we tried to do a private Bible study to better know how Je-

sus wants us to live?

When the day is done—do you thank Him for the greatness that has come from it? Let’s

think about this as we bring the year to an end and we usher in the Advent Season!

JMJ, +M.J.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and inerrant in the original writings. We

believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our

Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed

blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and

glory.

We believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of

Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe in and practice the holy ordinance of water baptism, which signifies the believer's

death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus, and the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded

by our Lord.

We believe in the present ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the

unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of death.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
