Chris M. Hutchinson is a commercial, stage, and film actor who hails from the beautiful island of wood, water and raw talent - JAMAICA. He is best known for his on stage work with theatre production company Jambiz Inter-national. Hutchinson appeared in 9 plays with the company between 2004 and 2009, touring the US and Canada while learning from Jamaican theatre greats Oliver Samuels and Glen Campbell.

Hutchinson has made a name for himself in the Jamaican entertainment scene as a director-favourite in television, film and stage productions. In 2014, he entered the US market starring in Miami-based Sunshine Theatre Company’s production of Ray Cooney’s Run For Your Wife.

His film resume includes roles in Chris Browne’s Ghett’a Life, Jeremy Whittaker’s Destiny, and New Caribbean Cinema’s Ring Di Alarm. Hutchin-son has also starred in national commercial campaigns for brands LIME, Heineken and Red Stripe.

Hutchinson got his start in theatre as a technical stage hand with Jambiz Interna-tional on their production Cindy Relisha and the DJ Prince in 2003. The follow-ing year he toured with the production as an actor in Woody’s Last Stand. His 2004 stage debut propelled him into a seven year stint with Jambiz.

He appeared in Ras Noah & The Hawk (2005), Amen Cor-ner (2006), Assistant Thief (2006), Cutie & The Freak (2007), River Bottom (2008), Love Games (2008), Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing (2009), and Diana (2009).

Hutchinson took a two year hiatus from acting before regaling Jamaican audiences with his animated approach to acting. He starred in Ba-sil Dawkin’s award winning play My God Don’t Wear Paja-mas (2013) and the Sunshine Theatre Company’s produc-tion of Ray Cooney’s Run For Your Wife (2014) in Miami.

FILM

As a film actor, Chris M. Hutchinson made his debut in a role in the short Earthquake. He appeared in director Ras Kassa’s made for tv film Not To Me (2009). Hutchinson played the role of Tek It in Chris Browne’s dramatic feature film Ghett’a Life (2011), which won an award for Best Script at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 and Best International Film at the San Francisco Black Film Festival in 2012. Ghett’a Life was picked up by VOD platform Hulu in 2013. Hutchinson starred in Michael ‘Ras Tingle’ Tin-gling’s Parish Bull - one of the seven films from the short film project Ring Di Alarm produced by New Caribbean Cinemas. Ring Di Alarm made its Jamaican theatrical premiere in August 2014. Hutchinson also appeared in Jeremy Whittaker’s Destiny (2014), which premiered at the Reel World Film Festival in Toronto in April 2014 and made its Jamaican theatrical debut on October 15, 2014.

Chris M. Hutchinson made his television debut in the second season of the series Me and Mi Kru (2010) as Fake Prince Zimboo. In 2013 he starred op-posite Randy McLaren in the debut season of iVu tv’s comedy series Squad-dy as Touchie. Hutchinson has also appeared in television commercials for Guinness, Singer, Supreme Ventures, Heineken (2007), Red Stripe (2011), and Lime (2013).
