Names are important. Call someone’s name and immediately a host of characteristics, experiences and associations come to mind. Our personalities and relationships are so varied and complex that one name is not enough to express who we are. People may even give us a nick-name. Sometimes a unique relationship calls for a special name. In formal situations, I’m sometimes introduced as “Dr. Vire.” Folks at the church frequently call me “Pastor” or “Preacher” or “Brother Craig.” Friends know me simply as “Craig.” My children call me “Dad” and my grandsons call me “Granddad.” When my fa-ther was with us, he most often called me “Son.” People are multifaceted creations of God and some-times relating to them requires more than one name. The God we serve is revealed through numerous names recorded in the scriptures. Each of those names reveals something unique and important about his character. These different names invite us to relate to him in various and significant ways. They open our understanding to aspects of who he is that we might otherwise miss. For the next five weeks on Wednesday evenings, our adults will continue a study entitled “God Is…The

Names of God.” Each name will teach us something about who he reveals himself to be on behalf of his people. July 31 – Our Healer Exodus 14:29-31 Exodus 15:22-27 August 7 – Our Banner Exodus 17:8-16 August 14 – Our Peace Judges 6:11-16, 22-24 August 21 – Our Shepherd Psalm 23:1-6 August 28 – Our Righteousness Jeremiah 33:3-8, 14-16 I hope you’ll join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 as we learn more about who God is by considering some of the special names through which he reveals himself. My prayer is that we will be drawn closer to him in meaningful ways as we study together. Craig

Good month church family! If you are reading this, we survived July! Between youth camp, VBS, and kid’s camp, we might be limping to the finish line, but we have made it none the less. Youth camp was amazing this year. We brought 10 kids and for four days and three nights they got to have fun and hear the gospel. We had many a great conversations with students about their standing with God and how imperative the gospel message is in our lives today, and through that we saw much spiritual growth. This month we look forward to bringing in our newest youth group members! We are so excited to get some new young faces in the youth room. I hope you will join me in praying that these students feel comfortable in this new and very different setting. Be on the lookout for the youth flyer with the August events and outreaches, they will detail all the youth group will be up to in the month of August. As always, let me know if I can do something for you. Blessings Caelan King 2 Cor. 4:18
